Thread: AC2 PC - 360 Controller DOES NOT work properly, fix please! | Forums

  1. #1
    Hey guys,

Got AC2 today(whoop) and also have AC1 for PC

You cant properly use a wireless 360 pad with the PC version, it doesnt recognise the triggers (views as an axis not buttons) and you get no vibration.

This is with a xbox 360 wireless pad taken from an xbox 360 using the wireless receiver for windows.

    PLEASE FIX UBISOFT!

It may work with windows branded wireless 360 controller or the wired version of the controller (as all 3 are different in some way) Can anyone confirm as i dont have the other two(but will go buy one if it does work as intended!)

Like i say this is in both AC1 and AC2

    Edit: updated to reflect findings

I can't speak for Assassin's Creed 2 yet, but the original game DOES support the wireless 360 controller.

Thats odd as not for me it doesnt with the official drivers. AC1 and 2 both the same

The triggers dont work nor does the vibration, apparently it works great witht he wired version.

Heres a thread about it from the AC 1 days i just found

    haha who knows!

Hey can i ask you WabeWalker if you own a wired 360 controller, a 360 wireless controller (as in taken from a 360) or the specific 360 wireless controller for windows?

As i think that could be the problem, i myself use a wireless controller taken from my actual xbox.

Id be greatful to know which you have

    Thanks!

I have had no problems with the 360 controller, i just rebinded the camera to the second analog stick.

For the rest it works like a charm.

The little ****le thing that attaches to my USB port was bought separately for $20, but the controller itself is from my 360.

When I installed the ****le thing, all my games worked - but then, a few days later, I downloaded a new driver, and suddenly a bunch of them didn't.

I rolled back to the earlier driver.

It sounds to me like you've either got the new dirver installed or the old one. Did you get a disc with your ****le thing with a driver on it? Maybe use the driver on that.

If that's not the problem, then maybe uninstall the driver software and just plug it in and see what happens.

I can assure you though that the wireless controller DOES work - other people have had problems with this and with many different games. It is a driver issue. You just have to find the right one.

This is the same bug that AC1 had, and it was never fixed, I reported it several times via forums and via technical support

Look at what happens when you configure the wired Xbox 360 controller. Buttons and triggers are named A, B, X, Y, LT, RT, Start, Select... like their real name on the controller

However when you configure the wireless controller, they appear as standard button 1, button 2, button 3... no more LT, RT, Start, Select...
