    Good question, I tried installing it to a second drive and noticed it didn't give a rat's arse, still installed to the same directory...
    I think I can provide you with an answer in just a second.

    [update]
    Nope, can't reliably get the installer to create the shortcuts pointing to where it installed - ended up with 3 shortcuts of the same name on the desktop, quite frustrating.

    I can tell you this much;
    Extract the homm5_demo.exe using WinRAR, by right clicking the homm5_demo.exe, and choosing "Extract to..."
    Write down the directory you extract it to, or something to help you remember the directory, in Windows Notepad, or your nearest sticky-note.
    Open the Windows Command Prompt (Press [Windows Key] + R, enter "cmd" at the prompt).
    At the command prompt, enter the following;
    cd /d "[directory you wrote down]"
    cd disk1
    setup.exe /v"INSTALLDIR=[directory you want to install to]"
    I don't know if this will skip the disk space check or not on drive C: ...
    You still have to pick out the correct directory when it prompts you during the installation.
    A good installation directory is like "D:\Ubisoft\Heroes of Might and Magic V\Demo"

    This is dumb, not even asking where you want to install it. Is there any chance someone would like rar the extracted files and make them available for download somewhere? Im not changing master hd and reinstalling windows just to play a demo, even though i love this game.

    After the license agreement you can choose where to install the game if i recall corectly. I don't have the demo on this computer but i will tell you exactly where when i get home.

    I dont have the "extract-to" option when i right-click on homm5_demo.exe. I thought of that because i use this method sometimes with self-extract archive. I tried to open the exe anyway doing file|open in winrar but it says its in unknown format or damaged. It is not damaged because i can execute the file, but always end up not having enough free space.

    UPDATE: I was using winrar 3.0. I just tried newest version 3.51 and it can extract the files. Working on it now.

    It worked pefectly. I could execute setup.exe from the files i extracted with winrar 3.51. Setup is on the way, and true you can select the install directory . The auto-self-extract on drive C: was the problem. They should have make it selectable but I got it working anyway thanks both of you for your help. Cant wait to try it out
