I'd imagine an airliner's tyres would be changed every other flight or so, anybody know roughly what happens and if they're destroyed or remoulded for future use?

The tires are usually remoulded up to five times before being destroyed.
And they are not changed every flight or so, they last for quite a while.

I dont know about heavy stuff but on certainly on RAF stuff the tyres have grooves on the tyre. When so much percentage of the groove is worn the tyre should be changed.

I've been on a 737 that made 3 stops before arriving, and the next day it had 3 more destinations... so i know the tires have to last a while. Landing isn't THAT hard on the tires (aside from the initial touchdown)... they're HUGE and have tons of surface to wear down.

A lot depends on the loads the aircraft are carrying, the type of runway being used, and the enviroment it is operateing from.

A heavly aircraft, working from grooved runways in the desert may only get 15-20 landing where an aircraft working with light loads, on a smooth runways, in cool weather may get 50-60 landing on a new set of tires.

We also have wet and dry weather rules, in the time of year a lot of rain is expected the tires are replaced sooner to insure proper grooves for wet weather braking.

It all depends on how many touchdowns a plane makes and what kind of touchdowns. After a rough landing u can actually see the side on the tyre that the touchdown was made. Many airlines use Dunlop and BF Goodrich for jets like 767 & 474
