Sorry about that thread, but I was not trollin' as some might have thought. I didn't know that coming to a game's forum and expressing an opinion about the game was off limits. Or maybe I'm not supposed to mention Tom Cruise. Either way, my mistake.

I was just giving an opinion about the storyline of the series and how I felt certain aspects seem to be taken from the pages of an L. Ron Hubbard book, the DaVinci Code and the Stargate movie. The Tom Cruise (well-known scientolgist) references were intended as humorous. I know he would not be in the third game. It was a joke. You know - ha ha. Of course that means I also realize John Travolta (another well-known scientologist) would also not be in the next game. Another joke - ha ha.

That's all I was trying to say, but forgive me for my blatant misuse of forum space. I will not litter the forums with opinions in the future. Because no one uses forums for that, do they?

Well, people do have similar ideas. You might not know it, but when Charles Darwin was over 20 years into his research and writing he received a letter from another scientist containing the exact same idea as his own. That's why he presented his idea earlier than he was planning and in only one book instead of three.

However Hubbard's claim that people believe different religions because their souls have been indoctrinated before birth is ridiculous. What kind of stupid aliens would those have to be to indoctrinate into multiple religions instead of just one. That only creates ground for doubt.

By definition every religion is false, because if any one were true it wouldn't be regarded as a religion.

Well, my opinion about the storyline was not that they were ripping off the ideas of others. I was saying it would have been a much better series without the alternate origin of humanity story element.

Ppeople can say "oh, it's so thought-provoking" all they want. I enjoy a good thought-provoking game as much as the next person, but in this case it seems more like someone spouting their view of religions in the guise of a fictional storyline. Seems rather obvious in certain text and dialogue throughout the games.

As for your last statment, what would it be regarded as then?

For all we know, the story being presented in AC2 could be true.

It's almost impossible (if not impossible) to prove a religion false seeing as, regarding most religions, the people alive today were not living when the religions were started and the related texts were written. That being said, it is equally as impossible to prove them true. It's all up to personal belief based on evidence.

Your earlier thread was closed for obvious reasons - Just look at the replies you received. By starting this thread, you are effectively kick starting the previous thread, which is not good.

I'm sure you can find plenty of sites and forums to encourage discussions about Scientology in depth - if that is your intention - but not here please, as discussions regarding religion are not entertained on Ubisoft forums.
