Go to options and change texture setting to medium or load. It used to take me 5 mins to load up the game and it would lag constantly. After changing the setting to medium though, the game loads up in under 1 min. Now I am having a blast with the game

Why should the people, who have the right System where Dark Messiah should normaly run great, reduce the Details? That is no fix ...
I have a x1800 xt ... why should i reduce Details to medium Oo ...
It is the Developers task that Dark Messiah should run great .. at least on high settings ..not our ...

You can run it on high if you want to, just expect longer load times for all the extra textures to load.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

There SHOULDn't be such a different between High and medium ... smth. went wrong in the development or they had no time to optimize it ... well and i think it was the second point.
Because it cant be that on pretty good system the loading times are about 5 minutes or more.

More RAM = faster load times. If you have 5 minute load times, get a faster hard drive and more ram.Doesn't matter what graphics card you have.
Also of course there will be a difference in load times between the different details...you load more texture data into memory it takes longer. :P

It's been mentioned over and over that people with perfectly able systems are having big problems running this game. Myself being one of them.
The game was coded badly, which gives it terrible loading times. Nothing else.
Exactly, I mean this is THE only Source-based game I can't run on High settings without a hitch. It should run at least on par with Valve's Source games IMO.
It might be something to do with the fact that it isn`t a standard scource engine, DM uses a modified version and has much higher textures as well.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I have a ??400 PC. I run it on all low and it runs perfect and loads fast. If you really want to stare at the detail on a wall then thats fine, your just a much easier backstab =)<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
