    Campaign 5 - A Formidable Adversary

    *Goal - Help the Alchemist
**Thing to remember : Drac will NEVER ATTACK YOU.

First things first. This walkthrough is not the most efficient way to get to victory. It is not the fastest. But I guarantee you it will work. IF you stray from it at all (example, building more hawkers or setting a building to Fancy Food) you will run into trouble later in the game. Just follow it and you will be on to Campaign 6 in no time.

Your starting town has all the amenities you need practically with chains already working for you. From food to beer to fancy food to wood to an Export office. Don’t delete, build, or change food needs of any of these. The way your town is now will work just fine.

**Mini Goal 1 - Take the town North of you with the gold mines.

Click on your export offices and build 3 hawkers. You will not need any more than that but any less and your trading later will take quite a while.

Scroll up to the town to your north (The one with the tavern and the two gold mines in the mountains) and once you have a Hawker select the Neutral castle and use the bribe option. This will “buy” you the zone for 30 gold. Afterwards certain prestige awards will open up.

Spend your Prestige awards on “Stronghold/Export/Church” option, the “Road” option, and the “Geologists” option.

Go ahead and build a Storehouse in your new zone and a mountain shelter with 3 gold mines. While the gold is not necessary you may as well do it for fun. When the gold mines are built you can put 1 as a geologist if you wish.

**Main goal update - Attack Drac to clear the path.

Once again, he will not attack you so do not worry about him.

**Mini Goal 2 -- Take the town in between you and Drac. Sure it has the iron and coal mine, but honestly it is simply in the way.

Do not attempt to use a military or attempt to buy the zone. You cannot spare gold or soldiers at this point.

Build a church. It will only take 12 novices to convert the zone for you and you have ample food and beer.

After the church is completed queue up 12 novices to be built.

While waiting scroll over to the right of the map and find the market (The green dot zone on the mini map)

Sell off all of your shirts and rings that you have. This will net you 72 gold. It will take a small bit for your three hawkers to accomplish this, but we are in no rush.

After your novices are done, click on the neutral zone’s castle and send your novices there to convert the zone.

Once converted you will get an ear full about how you can use the waterwheel to make gold. Honestly, you won’t need to use it so ignore him.

Build 3-4 noble houses in your main town. You will need this boost in population.
Looking at Drac’s zone you will see he has 6 pikemen and wooden towers. This means you need 7 pikemen and 10 muskets.

Luckily you will have enough Fancy Food, Regular Food, and Gold.

Queue up 10 muskets and 7 pikemen from the tavern. Once they are built (this may take a couple of minutes) send them in the slap Drac around.

You will get a cut scene.

**Main goal -- Help the alchemist

If you click on the alchemist once you gain access to him he will tell you he wants one of two things.

He wants either 40 gold or 10 novices.

The novices will be far easier to get as you should already have the beer and the food in stock.

Queue up 10 novices and once they are done click on the alchemist building and click the send button.

After the novices arrive there you will get your victory.

    Good luck in Campaign 6!

I wrote this out a while back. I have had a person ask for this walkthrough since I mentioned it but never posted it. I am posting it here now should anyone else in the future need it.

    Great walkthrough for mission 5.

Can we get a detailed list of what to do in Mission 6? This is an incredibly frustrating mission to do. Please detail what to do and in what order. build what first. research this first. build prestige to what level. what prestige levels to unlock in what order.

If somebody from Ubisoft is listening can the notification that you are about to lose the level have a longer countdown. I literally could not conquer the next sector in the three minute timeline. The little arrow thing in the fortification hut was at 75 percent but I still lost the level due to time expiring.

    Very much appreciated, thanks Calania!

I find I'm playing S7 more than I'm playing AC2 and GTA4 lately - very unusual - seeing it as chess on steroids and really enjoying it

Anyone else enjoying being the Eyeballs In The Sky

Next time it could be Settlers: Expanding Kandor

Hehe. I have always enjoyed God games like this.

While many years ago the Age of Empires series was a blast (I remembering almost wetting myself when I play the original Age of Empires and a computer AI attacked my stone wall with a catapult!) I still prefer the games where you less direct control.

Majesty was fun at the time (although I avoided #2). Roller Coaster Tycoon series is great as well.

But Settlers always held a place in my heart. I can give my people direction but I cannot force them to do my exact bidding at any exact moment. I love it.

OK, I'm assuming you are playing "A Formidible Adversary". You can recruit soldiers in the tavern. The tavern in this map is not in your home sector but is in the sector with the gold mines which should be the first sector you bribe.

Let me know if this makes sense to you. Or do you need more specific instructions on how to recruit in the tavern?
