Thread: Runtime Error- HELP!! | Forums

  1. #1
For some odd reason, I am now getting a "Runtime Error" from "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" that lists the splintercell.exe file. When I go to start the game, it runs the check disc utility as normal but soon after it completes, this runtime error appears and the game will not start. I've played it for the past two days without this happening, anyone know what's going on or what causes these errors? Thanks a lot guys!

I am having this same problem.

I installed the game just to-day and have been playing it all evening. Double Agent has crashed at least 15 to 20 times and caused a system reboot thrice during this period, but I have always been able to re-launch it without a problem.

However, this last time I was playing, the game crashed with a wild and potentially dangerous re-boot, and when Windows came up again, the game was broken, giving the following error:

"Crash! Can't Spawn Sam, please check if there is enough space in the EchelonPlayerStart"

And then it give me the C ++ Runtime Error.

The C: drive has just under 4GB free, and the drive the game is installed on, E:, has over 8GB free. So there is no way it has anything to do with Space.

I have rebooted for a clean slate and the issue remains.

    My system specs:
    Thermaltake Silent PurePower 480W, DFI LanParty nForce4 Ultra-D, Athlon64 3200+ Venice @2.6ghz, ThermalRight XP-90, 80mm Vantic Tornato, 2x1GB Kingston DDR400, XFX GF7600GT 256mb @580coreX1600mem PCI-E 16X, 120GB SATA WD, 2x WD = 80GB, NEC ND-3520A 16X DVD+R Dual Layer, 19" Sony Trinitron, Logitech MX Duo. 4 case fans (3x28cfm & 1x72cfm).

And my video drivers are the latest from nVidia.com as of this afternoon.
