I am seriously angry! Just purchased the game, but I cannot install it. The DVD drive makes weird noises and that's that. It does work on my other PCs, but not on my gaming PC. And no, I do not have virtual drives installed.
I am 99% certain it has to do with the copy protection.
I tried updating the firmware of my drive: No go, and quite frankly I should not have to do this in the first place.

    I find this totally unacceptable.

Obviously this is the only DVD I have problems with!

AHAHAHA..this is rich. Now my DVD drive is screwed!!!

So I swapped out DVD drives and guess what: The game won't run giving me a general protection fault!

Edit: I got it to work. My god, it's beautiful, BUT! My DVD drive is not working anymore. This must have something to do with the copy protection. The PC does not see the drive anymore. When I check in the CMOS, it is seen by the BIOS, but the naming, ie lettering is all weird and screwed up.

To clarify: When first tried to install BiA the drive made weird noises and nothing happend, so I put in other DVD's and everything was fine. Put back the BiA DVD,weird noise again and nothing happening. Anyhow, rebooted and suddenly the drive is a goner. Very, very weird!

    Again, this is NOT acceptable!

Just saw the FAQ II. It states that the copy protection may conflict with some DVD drives. Unfortunately for me, I just noticed it written on the back of the box as well...in tiny letters haha

Oh well, that'll teach me. Still, is it possible that it actually damages your drive?!?! Too me it seems that way..............

    CPU P4 3.6ghz HT

Mobo Gigabyte P4 Titan 8S655TX Ultra

Video card and drivers used GF FX 6600/66.93_win32 international 128mb mem

memory type and amount 400/ 1.5gb

    sound card Soundblaster Audigy

    direct X version DirectX9.0c

All vid settings at high but somehow i still get some wierd textures sometimes. water suddenly grey stripes then back to normal but then the trees have stripes over the level. Then a arm when pointing to a direction has a stripe like its a arm of a stringpuppet?
the holes in the faces have been fixed with the 1.02 patch but not the texture failure every now and then...

    Build: (null)

OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
    CPU: AuthenticAMD PentiumPro-class processor @ 1405 MHz [637525753856.000000 0] with 511MB RAM
    Video: NVIDIA GeForce3 (Omega 1.6177) (P) (6177)

    General protection fault!

    History: KWorldStepSafeTime <- KWorldStepSafeTime <- KTickLevelKarma <- ULevel::Tick <- ULevel::Tick <- [NetMode=0) <- UGameEngine::Tick <- UGameEngine::Tick <- CMainLoop::RunLoop <- MainLoop

(I am using WIN XP SP2 and latest nVidia drivers and 1.02 BiA) It does the video and sound for the first part of the intro chapter after load and Radioman wakes me up and I pick up my rifle, then the game crashes. Tried skipping the intro chapter and crashes right after load screen.
