Best PC Multiplayer Game OTHER than Splinter Cell? | Forums

Here's the deal:

I love Splinter Cell's multiplayer game. That's mostly because it is DIFFERENT, and not some strafe-jump frag-fest like UT2004. I've played it so much, though, that I kind of need a break, and was looking for some reccomendations for other PC multiplayer games that take some thought.

I already own all of Tom Clancy's other PC shooters, as well as Call of Duty UO, Half Life 2 + CS Source, UT2004 + Red Orchestra. (I have Halo 2 for Xbox as well)

What do you guys think is the best multiplayer PC game for me to buy?

The reason I'm asking here is because no other PC Multiplayer game has held my attention as long as this one.

Have you ever played any of the Thief series games? A while back, someone made a multiplayer mod for the original Unreal Tournament game based around Thief. It's called Thievery, and it's still in use. If you like stealth based multiplayer, that's the only other one I know.

Save your money for Battlefield 2. Should be out sometime in the future

That ain't your average strafe-jump shooter. Try out Joint Ops if you're into that kinda stuff as well.

I don't really play online. I played Settlers V over LAN and that was AMAZING. But that isn't a shooter.
Try the Freelancer online mode, that's great fun too. Time consuming, but great fun.

Counter Strike Source is my favorite MP game. I'm not reallly a fan of the BF games, maybe if the gameplay is changed a little bit I'll get it.
