Thread: Help with setting up x-52 profile please. | Forums

  1. #1
I downloaded the profile from Saitek, but it doesn't work. I've tried to set up a profile using the standard "controls" menu, but it doesn't recognize many of the kanobs and switches on the x-52. Any guides for setting up a profile for Il2?

    Thanks.

Did you enable the profile before starting the game? On your start menu, where the little icons on the far right are, there should be a little throttle icon. Right click that, and find the IL2 profile. It should work.

Yes, I did that. It still didn't work. Not sure wahat I'm doing wrong. I tested all the buttons using the control panel. They work fine. It's not the stick.

If the profile is working correctly many of the buttons on the stick will NOT work correctly in control panel with the profile loaded, however if you open notepad many of the buttons will cause letters/numbers to be typed in notepad while the profile is correctly loaded. Test and report back...

Ok, I reinstalled the software and it seems to be working. It would be almost easier to create my own profile to my taste. There are a lot of buttons mapped for functions that I never use (padlock for example).

I think it's just a matter of sitting down and (sigh) reading and trying out the different buttons, sliders, etc.

    Thanks for the help.

Here's a tip that may have something to do with the problem, saitek released some new drivers through windows update a while back. The problem is that they didn't tell anyone that you had to update the programming software as well. Stick with the drivers and software on the cd, less problems.
