Hi, i purchased From Dust on Steam and when I try to play it I get a crash when the Ubisoft Launcher is checking for updates. It says "Failed to load configuration. Please restart the game. If the error persists please contact Ubisoft support."
So that's what i'm doing now.
    Thanks in advance.

Well, I am getting in to the game but no menu are showing up for me. All that I can see are the under water scenery going side to side.

Purchased the game on steam yesterday. My system easily meets the min specs. All drivers are up to date. Try to launch game, just crashes after rating screen.
I think we would all appreciate some feedback from Ubisoft about what they are actually doing to resolve this and the many other issues, as there doesn't seem to be any kind of communication from them. We are the ones keeping you in work after all, I think we deserve some kind of response !!

    Machine spec:

    - Windows 7 Home Premium (OEM) 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)
    - Intel Core i5 CPU 760 @ 2.80GHz (4 CPUs)
    - 4096MB RAM
    - DirectX 11
    - AMD Radeon HD 6800

All drivers are completely up to date and other games run fine.

EDIT: Also cleared out game cache in Steam client and even uninstalled and completely re-downloaded and installed again.

EDIT 2: On the offchance that 6 month old motherboard firmware could be at fault I've also re-flashed with the latest and again no luck. I have also installed the 32bit and 64bit versions of 2005, 2008 and 2010 visual c++ redistributables and .net framework 4 on the offchance that it's a missing library.

I get as far as copying the game 'key', launching the game menu, clicking 'Play' and then nothing visible happens. In the background however there's a From_Dust.exe running at a working set of 160K and private bytes of 948K.

Pretty impressed with my first ever Steam purchase.

This is ****ing stupid. When is Ubisoft going to announce a patch they are working on AT THE LEAST. Or even release one. Or Give out MASS REFUNDS to a huge base of customers who now I am sure are disappointed with what looked like a good game but turned out to not even work.

    Check your supported cards.

*Supported Video Cards at Time of Release:
    ATI RADEON HD 3000 / 4000 / 5000 / 6000 series
    NVIDIA GeForce 8800 / 9 / 100 / 200 / 300 / 400 / 500 series
Laptop versions of these cards may work but are NOT supported. These chipsets are the only ones that will run this game.

Crossfire or SLI-equipped systems may run the game but are not supported. It is recommended to use a single card while playing From Dust.

See my previous post. The issue is not related to specs for at least some of us.

Don't hold it against steam, this is due to Ubi's design.
