Thread: No Credit Sinking | Forums

This is a first for me in this particular set of circumstances. I'm on second patrol, now baseed out of Surabaya, originally out of Cavite. I"m running TMO 2.0 withe the beta update.

My mission was to proceed to area "Pasture" and patrol there. A short ways out of Surabaya encountered a Horia Maru, with 2 escorts and sunk it and evaded the escorts no problem. I then ran across an unescorted Akita Maru, sunk same still no problem. Long dry spell later ran across 2 patrolling DD's sunk same still no problem. Next was a lone Haruna Maru, dispatched easily still no problem.

Here is the problem. I come across 2 more DD's and I decided to let them pass, but backtrack their course and see what I might find. While I still had the DD's on sonar contact I picked up another sonar contact following, not exactly their course but close to it. I turned out to be another Horia Maru. Whoopee, another big reward. What has ensued has been 2 days of total frustration.

I'm in a Sargo, 4 tubes fore 4 tubes aft. In front tubes 2 Mk 10's and 2 Mk 14's. I know bad choice with this being Jan 42. Line up was good, firing was good 2 10's hit exploded. 2 14's hit but were duds (quit laughing Wolfe), chased and was able to keep up(submerged) because of the hits till I could get another 10 loaded. I eventually did and sunk it. However no credit.

My first thought was I must have a corrupt save. Since I knew the time and the coordinates, no problem, go back and do it right with 4 10's this time. So far I've sunk this sucker "6" times
each time going back to an earlier save. The last time was the save after the Haruna Maru sinking. What gives. I'm at a loss. I never alt tab out or use the desktop button to leave the game. I always save and exit. This was deep water, South China Sea. Ideas please.

I don't know if it's a bug or purposely written into code, but it just happens. My best advice is to just let it go and move on.
The're in their bars, drinking, celebrating our sinking! Not yet my friends, not yet!

It happened to me, too. Maybe we are killing ships that are just arriving the point in wich they desspawn. Just an idea.

It's sort of funny but, it's similar to that scene in The Matrix where Neo sees that cat in the hallway and then sees an instant replay of the same cat in the same hallway.

The only way I can explain it realoldephart is that, you came across a "glitch in The Matrix". The key, being that second Horia Maru. Sometimes, the game re-spawns a ship that as already been sunk by you. Usually it'll happen with the same ship in the same general area. It has happened, or will eventually happen, with all of us.

I've had this happen rarely since stock, so I think it's a game bug. Usually it appears to be a ship that you sunk previously that spawns back in your contact zone. Seems to happen more if you use saves.

Just remember Captains often didn't get credit for ships sunk...no one believes you. Actually it would be a good idea if it wasn't a bug.

*Thinks of someone who CLAIMED to sink 4 Yamatos in one cruise.

Thanks for the replies mates. I am hoping it's just a small glitch and nothing major. I am about to put it to the test. I encountered a TF on the way back to base and am about to see if what I sink I will get credit for. Actually on the first try with them got caught and pounded good but got away with only minor damage ("NO" Hull Damage), did an end around and am planning on a night surface attack which I think should go much better. Let you know later.

I was as everyone said I guess, as I re-acquired The TF did a night surface attack, sunk "and got credit for" a Mogami. Since this is TMO without RSRDC, any guess where they might have been coming from. They were headed north, just south and a little east of the Balabaca Strait. Composition was 2 Mogami Cruisers, 2 ***a light Cruisers, several Fubuki Destroyers, and several Tyohei Class Troop Carriers.
