Problem number 1

Hi, I just bought the game and played a couple of hours. But I'm experiencing annoying technical graphics problem(s). I would like help within 48 hours, since I can return the game within 48 hours otherwise I'm stuck with it.

I read FAQs and could not discover any cures for my problem.
The game runs quite smoothly on very high settings. The game runs fine, just doesn't look as it should.

My problem: the ground/grass is black in many areas. I walk through the grass and then I'm sitting on a patch of darkness. No grass, just a dark spot. Everything else looks fine. It's worse when driving, it seems like I'm driving away from an endless supply of darkness. Looking ahead I have no problems, the prob appears in close and medium range. I don't understand as I can run newer games without any problems and this game runs smoothly and there's not a single other problem I've come across except this one. Note, I'm not talking about shadows, and I have lowered the settings multiple times and changed many graphical settings and tried those, none seem to fix the problem and having.

Also, I have downloaded and installed patches. I downloaded a patch pack from filefront.com BEFORE I started playing the game and after I installed it.

My game is detailed and clear and all but doesn't seem to look as good as in that and many more screenshots, and I've got all settings except the shadows setting on very high!

What are your computer specs? Those shots were probably taken with a very high end graphics setup and maybe with the 64 bit game.

At a wild guess, since you are running on high, I would say you have a very modern graphics card. in which case you may find you need to install some of the patches to get best performance. The patches to get in order are 1.3 1.31 and 1.33, If you have just bought a new game these may be on the dvd in a folder named "patches" If not do a search here for download locations
