When i run 'i promise' on windows media player 10, i get the sound, but the movie is just the wmp10 swirly stuff you get when you play a music cd, any ideas? is it a codec issue? any help greatly appreciated as given by the response it seems a great movie.( i've also d/loaded it at work and played it on my laptop there and it does the same)

sounds like the usual missing divx codec.
go to http://www.divx.com
or possibly, have you got hardware accelaration turned up to full in the options menu?
