the Japs seem not to want me there. I'm coming in from the east and so dfar I've had to down a passel (or is it a flock) of destroyers and a hell of a lot of airplanes. BTW, if one of those planes hit you it hurts.

I visited Singapore and decided to visit another port to the south. Made it through that visit and decided to find fuel and ammo. Darwin would not offer me any so I sailed for a subtender. I kept cutting my speed from Standard to 2/3 to 1/3. Ran out of diesel 1 inch from the tender! My batteries got me the rest of the way.

    Sarge,
Your best fuel economy is at 10.95 knots/hr. At any speed above or below that your fuel economy suffers. That's the pretty much the way it was in real life and that is how it is coded into the game. The real boats were designed to get maximum range at 12 knots/hr in calm seas.

I took your advice and turned off the battery charging once they're charged. It helps.

Pretty shallow waters. The traffic is good if you can bag the escorts first. The NE entrance to the channel is the best for traffic coming in from different directions and the availability of a bit deeper water.
