I hosted the server on my client, I have a local LAN, behind a router. I am port forwarding all requests on TCP 10308 to my client. I have started the server using both "All interfaces" or my specific client IP. My mission has only two planes (A-10). One is "Player" the other "Client". We use TeamSpeak.
Multiplayer gaming over the internet worked on Saturday, had in fact no problems whatsoever.
Sunday it did not work anymore. I could see my friend join the game as "unknown" but when he pressed "Join" nothing happened on my side. He could see that he now was on the blue team. Even when he changed his name from unknown it did not show up at my side.
We then clicked the "Ok" switching to the dialog where one chooses airplanes. I could not see him choosing, he could see me. Either plane he chose, the "Fly" button was disabled.
We then switched so he hosted the game.
I could connect and here things were different. We could see each other on the page where you join team, names and side, the lot. Next page, choosing planes was ok. He then clicked "Fly". My game loaded so I eventually saw my cockpit. Then it locked with a small dialog stating "Waiting for server". He said that he could see me "flying" but nothing happened on my side. Well I did have engine sound but that was just about all I had besides the dialog.
So are anyone of you familiar with these problems? I have not found any solutions or explanations for this behaviour.
My FW log showed that he could connect properly, no rejects could be found in it.
Btw, ping, network connection between us over the internet is very good. We geographically not more than a 3-4km apart using same lines.
