OPF cant be compared to GR because they are totaly diferent games, OPF was the first large scale combat game and was one of the most revolutionary games ever built due to its unique features and the fact it went many steps further, its technology was/is even adapted for use with severall military institutions (ex: USMC, ADF, etc). I dont see why you even compare such diferent games really. [/quote]

OFP 2 is totally graphically challenged as evidenced by all the screens so far. If that is coupled with OFP East European game design, the game will no doubt be as bad as the original. I'll stick to GR.
Thats an opinion, though i dont see enough facts to back it up with, models are very detailed and high poly, textures are great and its still early code, i only see evidence of a astonishing next generation graphics engine with fantastic rendering power .
East european game design? Now you got me puzzled with that one? List of some features is at the Gamestop article, if thats eastern european game design its more than fine by me.
Well and its fine that you should stick with what you like best too, i would stick with both if GR series didnt turn into an arcadish console concept port whose being put together (ported) by a unknow outside developer, your dedication to GR is comendable though im not sure if it will ever be rewarded, im disapointed with what ive seen/heard so far.

Because its impossible to compare a small scale game like GR with a big outdoor game like OFP I was just referring to the soldier models.
Oh, you meant the soldier models? Ok the models are way above the standard, the faces are perfectly round and detailed with very smooth looking parts like the nose, lips, etc. Overall they look very detailed with their vests, helmets, pockets and other parts modeled very well, also the hands look very good unlike other games where the fingers are squary and glued (Americas Army, Doom3, Far Cry, etc). So yeah the models impressed me alot, i wont even go to the vehicals and weapons, those are superb looking.

So you like the original GR models? Ok then, i think they were ok at the time (2001?), but comparing them with the ones of flashpoint sequel was way off .

Flashpoint (yep, even the new one) is behind in graphics. With all the hype at E3 about new shaders, processors, consoles, etc it's easy to see that developers are trying to make their games look real, like a movie. Those screens show they are still behind the curve.

Yeah but.. behind what? Tell me then, UE3? GR3? SC4? Quake4? S.T.A.L.K.E.R.? I dont see anything ahead, especialy capable of high detailed 400 sq km environments. What games look real, like a movie then? i dont see nada, .
You all seem very demanding towards a game that is in develoment but you all hate already for god knows why.
Yet you tolerate GR dispite we all getting screwed over and over...im starting to understand where all the anger comes from... deep frustration .

Here is the thing, Alex. WE played GR and many of us played OFP.

I hated OFP it was horrible. It didn't look worth a flip then and the gameplay was IMO worse.

Thats Ok its just a difference of opinion. But, I know I enjoyed GR and have some small hope that GR will be half the game the original was. If OFP came out tomorow, and was twice the game it was when the original one came out it would still IMO suck ... any number times zero is still zero.

Thats just my opinion about that game is all.

And I haven't been impressed with what I have seen on the game. Not at all.

I was so hostile at Best Buy about OFP that they ignored their store policy and gave me my money back on open software.

    And Dago's math is perfect.

Well, too bad for you then because i really think it was the best war game of all times and it will grow into THIS!.

The areas you can navigate are huge, several hundred square miles, and the weapons will be modelled from several parts which are fully interchangeable if you are into mods. Gun parts will be in motion when shooting as well. Individual characters will be quite advanced wit,h for instance, variable hand positions on weapons. This allows for animated loading, cleaning and generally far more dynamic characters than Operation Flashpoint.
While GR wich was already a small game in technology/concept will decrease into that.... Have fun in Mexico city, i'm not expecting more than another bellow average game just like GR2 was.

How nice of them, such an early stage of development and already so much coverage and information out there, IGN, Gamespot, boomtown, etc.

That's because we are. They're smarter than people that run "other" companies.
