Pardon my ignorance, but that particular abbreviation doesn't ring a bell. Perhaps a little help?

    Day Lights saving Time.

They (the US) want to increase the amount of DLST by 2 months.

They (claim) this will save them 100,000 barrels of oil a day. If this is true, and it works for them, why not discuss it with the rest of the world that uses DLST first.

Ah, I'm used to seeing it abbreviated DST. Thanks, sometimes it's the simplest things that can throw your a curveball. Ben Franklin may have been a brilliant man in every other regard, but I find the whole concept idiotic. If a business or our government wants to change their hours in the winter to save money go for it but I see no real reason to make us all change our clocks. Why not just have "winter hours and summer hours." instead making figuring out the time difference between countries (and Arizona) more of a headache.

years ago, when people had to work in the feilds and such, it may have been a usefull item. But with the world being what it is today, and businesses doing all hours, its no big deal anymore.

Want to save 100,000 bbls a day? Get rid of SUV's, we lived a long time without them......

Yes, we need government intervention to change what the people want!

"You want a big car to carry groceries/plywood/to make you feel big? Well you can't! Because we say so!"

    Yah, that's gonna work.

Maybe we should also let the government regulate what kind of food and drinks we should be allowed to consume eh? or how about the size of your home?

It's an interesting idea, but not particularly well thought out. Since the rest of the world isn't changing it may cause all kinds of minor problems. Then again, it does remind me of the Arabs who refused to live on "Zionist time" when Israel changed DST one year. As a result of their not changing their clocks, they were killed when their own bombs went off an hour early before they could get them into place to murder Israeli civilians.
