Thread: 1 Match 55 Gallons of Gasoline...NOW THATS A FIRE! | Forums

1. #1
I have been trolling around watching alot of the forums for game sthat are coming out and noticed this.

Ubi is publishing GR2 developed by RSE and Brothers in Arms developed by Gearbox.

Both games were announced fairly close to each other.

But here is the big differances.

Gearbox is releasing all platforms on the same date.

They have confirmed there will be a demo(no release date).

Gearbox has a web page that updates around the clock every three hours on exactly what stage the game is at. They posted how many bugs were found, how many were fixed(every three hours).

If the community posted a request that was overwhlmingly positive for addition to the game the devs would post that they were going to try and add it, and if it couldnt be aded, WHY.

Seems to me the people at gearbox respect thier fans(costumers) and enjoy having them involved in every step of the process. But it seems RSE's "give a dam" is broken.

Come on guys (RSE) toss us a bone here.

The game might not be build enough yet toeven give us ANY info. is there any way to really tell if the game just started getting made seriously? RSE is probably split between R6:4 and this so it will probably take longer.

Well according to UBI there should be a Q1 release date which would be April/June. So that puts the release about 1 to 3 months away, I would guess that the game is in the very late and playable stages.

What makes you think that the release dates that Ubi gives the public are dates based on their fiscal year? Not a single game company/developer of which I'm aware does that. Most release dates are based on the public's perception of time - the calendar year.

Just saying...

Because there was alink posted in these forums to the UBI finacial site were UBI stated...."GR 2 is scheduled for release in the first qauter of Fiscal year 2005"

I agree with you witnness and the thread caused much confusion, which is why RSE should have someone stop by these forums once a year or so.

Ahh, gotcha. Yeah, that's pretty odd, isn't it? Regarding RSE, unless things have changed in the year that I've been gone, Ubi has asked that RSE remain out of the customer relations end of things... The people there are very good folks - I've known the Stelmacks since back in the R6 days - and I believe that if they were allowed to comment and update us, they certainly would be doing so. From what they've said, they thoroughly enjoyed getting input from the fans back during the development of Rainbow 6 and, subsequently, Rogue Spear...

That is fine Witness, and hearing from you does help out a bit, we know you have close ties.

BUT>>>>>

We were promised SOME info after Christmas, in the January time frame. Its not the delay in release that has me and alot of others upset, its the total lack of info since the XBox release.
