Ok, I'm real new to the whole Paint Shop thing. Bought PSP8 the other day, having some fun with it. BUT...it's not bad enough that I really don't know how to skin, but when I try to enter text on the skin, or ANY picture for that matter, I get this:
"Unhandled exception, code=101, what= internal program error: an invalid parameter has been passed to a function."
Any one know what this is and how do I fix it? Also, is there any where a guy, an everyday Joe, can find simplistic instructions on how to create and modify skins? I'm not real computer literate but would like to learn how to use this program. Thanks all. Take care---Hammer

Not sure, but I had a similar problem some time ago having to do with text in PSP. This was not a fault of PSP, but of the letter in question (TTF). After I removed the font and started PSP anew the problem was gone.

So if you still remember the letter that was active, or if not hopefully can get as far as being able to see which font ws selected, you can remove it through Windows setup.

Worked for me...

If you ask me, I think PSP8 sucks. PSP7 is much much better still. PSP8 left out a tool, or I should say modified it. I don't see the bezier line tool anywhere like the one in PSP7. Instead you have to use the new draw tool....just sucks.

Other than that, if you are good at multi tasking between different paint programs, I would suggest Fireworks MX for using TEXT, unless you are comfortable with Photoshop.

Cheers S!

Well I have to agree on the preliminary feeling of PSP8.

I saw the demo, but I will stick to PSP7 myself.

I prefered PSP5 over 6, but I found PSP7 to be both a step forward and easy to use (although some things were easier in 5). Been using PSP for quite some time now, 3 and upward.

Photoshop is more powerful, but somehow I cannot get used to it...

Interesting.

I was wondering if there would be any advantage in up-grading from PSP 7.

The demo was not that exciting ... the only really interesting tool was the perspective tool ... which seems to improve of v7's implementation.

I guess I'll stick for a bit.

Uhh... the beizer tool is still in PSP8. You modify the line style of the pen tool. Its on the middle top bar.

I just feel that PSP8 is way too unstable. PSP7 is still my favorite.

Copper Head,
Yep! Very good. It (and I) belongs to the Clan MacKay from the Northern Highlands. Before you ask, no I wasn't born there although I truly wish I were. I'm Scottish by birth through my maternal side. I do compete in the Scottish Athletic Highland Games here in the Western U.S.
How about you? Scottish?---Hammer
