Thread: How did you know you loved stealth? | Forums

Since you guys here are buying splinter cell double agent (me too) i would like to know why you like stealth and give some examples.

My reasons are, in almost every game i use stealth.

In halo 2:
I always crouched when the enemy is near, so they wont spot me on the radar. And then i quickly punch them in the back.

In GRAW:
I always walked around the whole map, so coming behind them and shooting them in the back.

In oblivion:
I was a sneaker who worked with dagger and bow, so always stealth.

In world of warcraft:
I was a rogue, so a stealther, because he has a dagger and could become invisible etc.

And probably in more games also, thats why ilove stealth.
And you?

Too bad stealth's not in this one. And I'm not buying the game. I just complain about it untill the developers learn some common sense and not change a great series.

AAAARRGGH!!!
I'm sick of these "stealth is teh gone" posts! It's not!

Anyway I tend to go quite stealthy in lots of games too. And when my friends are watching they're like "Stop being stealthy. Who cares if you're allowed to play however the hell you like in this game. Just run in and blow the **** out of everything you see like Arnold Schwarzenegger from the movie Commando!"
Clearly none of my friends actually appreciate true stealth... let alone any stealth whatsoever.

Stealth IS gone in the multiplayer. But, the new definition of stealth nowadays is getting away without getting shot, instead of detected. Single player is going to be fun no matter what, I either played single player using stealth the whole way through, or used ambush and cover to complete the mission, I enjoyed both play style. You can still hide from the mercs in multiplayer, but it isn't going to be the same from a theory standpoint. The mercs are going to know that your in a room, and if you're in a room, hiding in a dark corner, or behind a crate, you'll do well to get out of there, because alot of mercs will probably carry over the nade till they hit someone tactic, especially if they're near a resupply station were they can constantly spam nades. Stealth in the sense of CT is gone, but a new kind of cat and mouse 'Stealth' has been born. You are detected no matter what, they know you're there, but...they don't know if you're right behind them, about to snap their neck.

Anyway, what I'm saying is, the next game is going to be fun, just people need to adapt to the new gameplay style. Especially since there are no shockers or smokes, in maps like Warehouse(Just an example because we know maps like that aren't going to be in the game.) You would get sniped in the head by any average merc, or as soon as you went downstairs, you would get naded.(Warehouse was my least favorite map to play as a spy, because of how cramped and hard to get around it was, and that happened alot....Especially people who learned how to angle nades to fall down INTO the pipe area.) In this game however, the new maps would force players into playing more aggressively, and possibly more defensively on the merc side. Either way..IT IS GOING TO BE AWESOME! /rant

BACK ON TOPIC >.>

I manage to put stealth into as many games as I can. Heck, I even try with the assassin in Diablo2. >.<
