Thread: Title ranks | Forums

Hi, I saw at one point in time my title rank in "profile manager' was messed up and was rising rank up to Lvl 10. (months ago..)
I have just reached lvl 9 in Military and it says you have reached the highest rank.
Was Lvl 10 removed? is lvl 9 the highest for all titles?
    ..still here...

If you reach level 10, you are the player with the most rank points in this category.

Here is a list of the titles. You'll find there also ways to get these points.

    Nice info!

Do you know something about the rank points and ways to improve it? Like, is better to win with victory points or wipe out the map?

AWESOME! Dude thats great, thanks very much.
    - also sphinx, Does that mean that sorting the "my realm" by points ie; Military will show you who exactly has that rank. (roscrat should have commander atm [congrats ros])

" Negetive military points for retreat" Nice touch BB! loven it!!

@armageddon From what I understand, it doesnt score you higher if you wipe them out, but it scores them lower for being in 3rd or 4th place on that map. It is in the fuedal ranking system that your score raises via VP etc, not the glicko system i presume.

You can see your score ingame at the profile or in my kingdom. The player who have the most points can use the highest title in the gamecard and/or ingame.

Glicko and profile points are different things. You'll get profile points in skirmish, in multiplayer and in empire.

While we're on the topic of titles - here's something that has not been mentioned a lot (at all?)

There's a cap on the points you can gain from single player and multiplayer games (only points from empire matches are unlimited).

    SP Church/Miliary/Trade: 160
    SP Feudal: 320
    MP Church/Miliary/Trade: 320
    MP Feudal: 640

Do you get points from the campaign as well or only in skirmish matches in single player?

BB, lets talk about the glicko.

Pls, explain a litle more how it is calculated and what can influence it in an empire match.

    Tnks.

Basically glick consists of two values: Rating and RatingDeviation

Your RatingDeviation decreases whith every match played but increases if you do not play for a while.
The Value that is used for the leaderbords is:
    GlickoCE = Rating - RatingDeviation
    [max(RatingDeviation) = 700]

So if you stop playing you will be continuously rated down (starting after about a weeek of inactivity IIRC) but when you play again you will quickly be back to your old score.

All players who finish a game are ranked according to the number of VPs they hold. For the glicko calculation the game is then split into a number of 1 on 1 duels - ie: if you're on 2nd place you have lost against the one on 1st place but won against the players on 3rd and 4th place. Equal number of VPs is a draw - domination VP counts as 9999.

You gain points for winning or achieving a draw against a better player.
Conversely you loose points for loosing (duh!) or a draw against a weaker player.
The amount of points you gain or loose depends on the the rating difference between you and you opponent - the exact formula is long and boring.

This means that point gain & loss from a match is not symmetrical and not even continuous (ie coming in second against a top player might make you gain more points than him, if you're ranked low).
But (bugs aside) it should give a good impression of your actual skill.
