Thread: Is Ubisoft going to release a patch? | Forums

Will there be a patch/patches in the future...or is it gonna be game that will never be patched.

My only complaints are the mouse issues, and the AA issues, you have to set everything back to default before enabling AA.

And also the new beta nvidia drivers are **** and the old ones work better, the new ones cause texture flickering and a loss of performance according to the benchmarks I ran. Also with AA on it's extremly laggy, while the older october 15'th drivers seem to be much better and AA seems to run alot better and there is zero texture flickering.

This game will not be patched. They have your money and don't care about anything else.

They better release a patch. The game is really good, they just need to fix some things.

If I had to take an educated guess, given Far Cry 2's place as a "premiere" title I'd say that we'll see at least one patch for the game, probably several over its active lifespan. An equally educated guess would peg the first patch with a release date sometime before Christmas, but that's ultimately just speculation on my part.

To make sure that the issues you noted even have a chance of being addressed, I'd suggest exhausting every communication avenue with Ubisoft possible. That is, the official suggestion/patch threads provided, complete a support ticket online, and perhaps even calling your local UbiSoft office. Don't worry too much about UbiSofts official responses to your inquiries at this point. All you should be concerned with is getting your issues heard by as many "ears" as possible.

That's precisely why they are called BETA (Better Effort Towards Achievement) drivers. They are not perfect and are not intended to be all things to all people. Added to which, the performance anomoalies you're seeing here have less to do with UbiSoft and nearly everything to do with nVidia themselves. If you're running Vista, you can try filling out the feedback report to get your issues heard:

The only mistake Ubisoft made developing this game, is making it playable for the consoles (PS3/360). The game lacks very much potentional on the PC (like prone, lean, etc.) - could make a whole list -.

The engine is great, but the game designers (the people working on the gameplay part) should do their work better.

I just got back on Windows XP (used Vista for quite a while), started FarCry2 trying to join a Multiplayer game. But since this game is build for consoles, the multiplayer loading screen (connecting to servers) is ******ed and can't be cancelled. So, I tried ALT-Tabbing, CTRL+ALT+DEL, CTRL+ESC, and everything else, and I couldn't even ****ing close the game. I had to hard-reset my computer because the morons there decided to create an FPS game for consoles.

I want my money back >_>

    And another thing:
    THIS IS A UBISOFT-OFFICIAL FORUM!
Has anyone EVER seen a UBISoft Employee replying to our questions about whether their making a patch or not?
The least they could do is give us some headsup about the progress over there (if there is any).

    This is just ***ing ridicilous!

Guys I want to believe that the devs are familiar with FC2 issues and I have a strong sense that many if not all of these issues will be fixed.
It's an awesome game really and I believe that they will support all their work that has been put in this great game.
