Thread: Back to heroes 3 graphics? | Forums

I think ubisoft should go back to heroes 3 graphics with updates graphics. The heroes 3 graphics feels so real and so alive.

The 3D0 graphics and Heroes 5 and 6 failed. 6 failed because its made off the same engine as 5. heroes 4 failed too. Everything failed when the 3DO company was bought up by Ubisoft.

Just look at the pictures and you know what I am talking about.

Like in heroes 3 you had

Magic: water, air, fire, and earth spells! You also had expert (earth spell) town portal and dimension door. Expert haste, slow, armegeddon etc. Fly and vision etc.

Army: In heroes 3 you could split up the army. This was not in heroes 5 but maybe its implemented in heroes 6.

Graphics: Heroes 3 Town graphics looks so real and alive. Heroes 5 and 6 looks weird. To much 3DO

I bought heroes 5 but not gonna heroes 6. Ubisoft missed out to many fundamental game play.

What was so good about them? Even back then, they did not look like much to me.

Heroes 3 was never popular because of its graphics, but because of its diversity and huge depth of gameplay.

Town Screens of Heroes 3 did look great and all, but Heroes 5's were even prettier. The only reason I would hold Heroes 3's Town Screens above Heroes 5's, were their panoramic view as opposed to Heroes 5's view which was focused on the main building and its peripherals.

The adventure map though and the battlefields weren't anything for your eyes to feast on. I won't go as far to say they were ugly, just nothing special. Besides, although 2D Town Screens are arguable and possible, 2D adventure map isn't. Unless they use beautiful hand-drawn images both for the scapes and the creatures and its locations. That would be sweet but I don't think they're up for it.

Come to think about it, I would really like it if it was made like that. Every map hand-drawn, different and unique with the various map locations being part of the image and not pasted on it as seperate entities. But then, it would be impossible to create new maps through either an editor or RMG.

heroes 5 and 6 are becoming too much warcraft... ***EDIT*** warcraft

Ok first of all u can split armies in heroes V hold left shift and press on a stack with left clik and move to empty slot and the split window will appear
second 3do went bankrupt , the rights to might and magic where bought by ubisoft after, ubisoft was previosly a publisher for might and magic games
third the graphic engine is different or modified compared to heroes V , V was developed by Nival entertaiment , while VI was developed by Black Hole entertaiment
Heroes V graphics have a good visual design, it looks good even today ,same goes for heroes III
