I tried it for about 30 mins. I found it too arcadish and too ugly. Of course I tried it after I was already flying IL2. Started this sim in 2001.

I played those two free weeks on AH and later frequently on H2H.That was the first time I learned that you just can´t turn and burn dogfight with every plane That big battle was fun.The teamwork to catch an airfield.Manning guns in a bomber.Hm,maybe I should go for a subscribe.

I played AH for a few years back in 2001-2002 2004-2005 but is just too old looking and too arcadish FM's for my liking. I got a new two weeks trail few months ago when they released the new patch (Wirlberwind ). This time it didn't tempt me to resubscribe. They stil have two of my FW-190 skins.
My Squad CO, Raven played also. He did a bunch of Bf-109 and Mustang skins. He stoped playing for over a year also.
A massive multiplayer ww2 combat flight sim with FM's, 3d models and visuals of this game would sure hook me.

Ah and BTW... You'll soon find out that P-51's don't exactly rule this game like the AH2.

I used to play Warbirds Online, it was getting a tad tiresome and then IL2 came out, and I just couldn't go back (especially since IL2 was free after the initial investment).

I do miss the large scale re-enactments both Warbirds and Aces High conducted (250-300 players) simulated WWII events such as the BoB Scenario, Pearl Harbour, etc. They were AWESOME! Nothing like having a sector controller guide a squadron to an intercept, or finding out your sector is blind because the radars were attacked, and you're relying on visual sightings.

Here's hoping this is one of the reasons SoW:BoB is taking so long.
"The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.[Europe], under pretence of governing they have divided their nations into two classes, wolves and sheep. If once [the people] become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress, and Assemblies, judges and governors shall all become wolves. " - Thomas Jefferson

I tried it and it was OK...but I have Il2 and is much better.
I did like driving the PT boats, manning the AA guns and stuff though, but it still wasn't near enough to get me to stay there.

I thought I'd try the two week trial again, but it kept telling me it was over even before it began. I was curious to see what the game play was like (the graphics look dated). I wasn't sure about the FM.

On 'other sims', is Warbirds III still going? When I tried to play than many years ago there was rarely more than half a dozen people in the arenas. WW2OL is an interesting concept, but the graphics aren't very good for the modern age.
