Thread: Serious 1.02 Patch Problems | Forums

    Ok, for ther most part i had little problems with vegas until i installed this patch,

    1: enemys have NO SOUND, i now get shot without hearing a thing ,no shouts from enemys, no gun fire, no bullet impacts either, (game is now unplayable as i cannot hear the enemy)

    2: when i command the 2 bots too regroup it will instantly tell them to "hold" and i have to press it about 4 or 5 times before it will stop doing it.

    3: game has weird fit when starting up, at the screen where it says"game experience may change" it will stick and flash.

    4: PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PUT A SEPERATE REMOVE OPTION FOR EACH PATCH, that way when you half *** and release a patch that creates more problems that is fixes i can remove it and i dont have to uninstall my game and reinstall it!! (Graw did this, well one did, that was before it became all about profit and less about the actual prduct)

    my set up,

    AMD 6400 x2 64x
    8800GTS 640mb
    4 gb DDR2 800mhz
    500gb sata 2
    creative X-FI


    (and please note its this **** patch and not my system as i was running the game about an hour ago, then decided to run the updater, and now my game is dead, good job UBI)

    Actually had the 'silent enemy' problem before 1.02 - fixed it by turning down Hardware Acceleration in my system's soundcard properties.

    The team 'random order' bug is new though. I get random orders to ai teamates even when I haven't actually given any order. Initially found it comical, but really it breaks the game when you're using an ai team. Thought it might have something to do with the speech recognition, but still get the problem with speech recognition set to off and no mic attached.

    Because of the 'random order' bug am contemplating reinstalling to get back to 1.01. UBI should really fix this ASAP.

    My game is freezing in the exact same room everytime. It's the first mission when you are going to use the "riggels" for the second time. It just freez. ...

    (riggels = rope) euhm, my english is not 100% good so excuse me! Don't remember the name, but the ropes.

    And i got the problem with random orders too.

    To fix the problem with the AI, make sure you turn voice recognition off in the options, and unplug your microphone.

    It worked for me, and now the AI responds to my commands without me having to press the button 1000 times.

    I did both those things and still get the problem, though possibly less frequently than originally.

    I really wish UBI would actually sort out some of the basic problems in the game eg the stupid ai spawning in TH mode, before introducing these new 'features'/problems.

    Edit: have now tried disabling the mic in Windows (even though I don't have one attached) and that seems to have worked (so far).

    thanks for the replys,

    i did try turning down the hardware accelaration, and unplugging the mic with voice recognition off, didnt make any difference, and even if unplugging the mic did work this would not be an option for me as me computer goes onto ventrilo as soon as its turned on so my mic is always in use, id rather not have vegas 2 than not have a mic!

    this is just a joke, we need some laws to protect us from this type of garbage, this patch clearly wasnt tested properly, if at all, if ford released an untested car they would get done (or even a car that didnt work as it should) if AMD released a dodgy CPU they'd get done (or we'd atleast get our money back/ replacement) but commpanies like EA and ubi have no accountability, they release utter **** and then we're stuck with it, cant return it because of the CD key, and UBI do things like this to try and fix it and make it worse, EA and ubi should be FORCED to open a returns hotline where they can directly give us our money back when the get caught trying to rip us off!! (last ubisoft game i ever buy, doesnt mean i wont be playing them, but i certainly wont be buying them again!!)
