I've had few problems with running this game. My younger brother got it for Christmas and it doesn't work as it should. What a shame.
At first it crashed into a blue screen. I resolved this by disabling sunbelt firewall.
Then the game launched but the game window border was shown and it flickered black and white very fast. I disabled WindowBlinds.
Now the game starts fullscreen. The music is playing but the screen is black. I can navigate through menu (I think so) because I can hear the sounds when I use keyboard arrows.
I've got latest dx9 and nvidia drivers.
XP SP3
Dual Core 3GHz
GeForce 9800GT
3GB RAM
Any thoughts?

Make sure you run the game with digital audio properties set to 48000hz or less in Windows menager. The game crashes if you use more than that. You should set digital audio properties to 48000hz it realy helps...

Please tell me how to set up the sound frequency output on Windows XP SP3. I use ALC888 sound card with the latest Realtek drivers and a 2.1 speaker setup. Nothing fancy, I mainly play with headphones.
Take into account that the game does NOT crash for me. It runs ok, I can hear the music and sounds but I've got no display.

Anyone solved this? I have the same problem (Windows XP) black screen but music and sounds works OK.

I am having the same black screen with sound on my newly installed PC version

Make sure you have the latest patch for the game installed.
For XP, try turning down hardware acceleration.
For Vista or Windows 7, make sure the sound frequency is 48000Hz or less.
