Cannot get player skin to change w/air group | Forums

Curious, but I cannot get the player skin to change in the FMB. All the planes in the flight will change, but not the player.

example: I changed all the BF109G-2s to use the Chess skin. All the planes in the group changed to the chess skin, except the player skin would not change. Even though it says chess it is still the default...

Curious... any suggestions...outside of editing the mission file directly?

I've had that problem as well. I think you can get around it by going to the "Arming" area at the beginning of the mission, next to "Aircraft Customization" choose the skin you want and go fly. Hope that works for you!

Just another little twit anomalie...

I went into the mis file and changed it, but it seemed peculiar to me because the file name had a $ in front...I removed the $ sign and went back to the FMB. I made sure the skin said it was Chess.bmp. I then played the mission, and the skin for the player was still default.

So, I thought Quick Mission Builder may hold the key. So, I went into the QMB and changed the player skin there.

Wahla...it worked.

So, der secret is...to change the skin for the player in from the drop down selector in QMB.

It's a feature not a bug.

Player skins are "remembered" between sessions.

They are in your personal settings.ini file ...
... (FB directory)/Users/(Name)/settings.ini file, where (bracketed) items are variable.


You'll also see your last weapons preferences here[img]/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif[/img]

Don't mess around with the file, unless you really know what you are doing.
