Can anyone PLEASE! tell me what the system requirements for this game.

I read the Official Lock On Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
and all it talks about is how great the game is.

What are Lock On's system specs?

Windows(r)98/ME/XP/2000
Pentium III 800/AMD Athlon 600 or better
256 MB RAM (512 MB RAM recommended)
3D video card (DirectX 8.1 compatible) w/32MB RAM (128MB recommended)
Sound Card (Direct 8.1 compatible)
DirectX 8.1 or higher (included on disc)
4X CD-ROM or better (Not recommended for use with CD-RWs)
Internet connection (56 kbps or better) or LAN for multiplayer
Hard Drive Space 1.1 GB

and I'll buy another one! What a crock ... I'm sure it loads on a machine with the specs above, but can you play it?!?

that's all min requirements garantee. That the game will load on that system. There's a reason why it's call <u>min[/i] requirements.

Of course I understand what minimum requirements are ...

If I had seen ... well, I did - the demo.

Okay then, why doesn't it run well when you triple the CPU speed and quadruple the video ram?

I'm running this on an
-- AMD 2500+ (1.9GHz)
-- ATI 9600
-- 768M

Isn't it reasonable for a person to think that if you merely double the minimums it would run pretty well? When you triple/quadruple those minimums, shouldn't it run even better?

This sim is nowhere near what it was "crocked" up to be.

the devs have been very open that the sim engine will tax even the fastest system with everything set on high. But any 'mid range' system can be setup through the graphics options and run at a good (25-35fps) speed and still look nice.

Well I have a mid-range system:
Athlon 2.2
512 RAM
G4 4400 128 megs
Win 98SE

So my system meets the RECOMMENDED System requirements...The game should run an mid-graphics level very well.....Am I correct?
