can anyone please tell me how to get or use the parachute. I press the square button after jumping off high buildings and nothing happens.

Did you check that you have parachutes?
If not, you can buy parachutes at the tailor.

If not, do them.
If so, you can buy them from any tailor.

Did you "press" or "hold" down square button? You have to hold the button down to activate it.

In my version its the X button and not the Square button.

I think OP is talking about the ps3 version.

regardless of what is on the button its in the same location and you need to just make sure that you have them in your inventory. I know sometimes they disapeared from my inventory sometimes.
