Thread: I can't send a question 2 ubi about DA | Forums

  1. #1
May i request that the first person to read this copy and pastes this whole message and send it to the Ubi support ask a question place. I'm having probs with the account.
May i also request that you say that it's SpiritSharD's message, and that he wishes a reply to bwe sent to him by email.

    Here it is:

I, and many others who played Chaos Theory, i disgusted wit the fact that Ubisoft have changed a great multiplayer game(spy v merc), into a deathmatch arena (spy v spy). My reasons for this is simple. The oringnal combat system has gone, a new one replaces it which can easliy be cheated by pressing all the buttons. The maps are small and theres no place for stealth. The xbox/360 get the better version of online while us ps2 players sit in the shadows, playing a down-graded version. I would like Ubisoft to answer my qustions on this matter.

    1. Why did xbox/360 get Spy v Merc and not ps2?
    2. Is there a chance that ps2 will get spy v merc, EXACTLY the same as xbox/360?
    3. Can you please, please, on my behalf, on my friends behalf, and many others peoples behalf, please create an expansion pace offering ps2 players to be able to play spy v merc.

I will take this matter as far as i can, i know i cannot get a whole industry to listen to demands of one online gamer. But i m speaking on behalf of many others, many of which, do not wish to complain about this, because they do not think that there is a chance.

Please, please take this into account, please consider what i say. Why should xbox/360 get a better multiplayer mode, while us ps2 players have to sit and watch videos on the internet, or have to buy a new console, just to get this mode. Being honest, their would have been more ps2 versions sold if they had had this mode. Please consider this, and please respect most peoples wishes.

    Regards,

    Kirk Wood

P.s If you wish to talk to me online, my account is CHAOS-_-L3AD3R, if you wish to arrange an interview of some sort, i'd be more than happy to ablige.

The XBox version only has SvS as well. The only console to get SvM is the 360. I tried it and it's sad. Normally I don't play Vs. anyway, cause I am shocking at it so I could be biased, but I did not like the way they all moved, sort of like they are on speed and have rubber joints.

Also it would require a major re-write of the entire multiplayer part of the game. I doubt it would happen as it's not really possable as just an addon.

Anyway the next version more than likely will not even come out on the older consoles.

I do however applaud your attempt. Just wanted to clear up the "what console this is available on" question.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I perfectly understand, however, i just say that it is more than possible for an expansion to be made, bungee did it for Halo 2, ubi can do it for DA.

Actually Bungie just released a map pack and they changed a few play modes there were no changes to the physics or character types and how they interacted with each other and the enviroment.

For this to get the SvM it would require much more. For a start there is no first player hud or setup for it so they would have to make a whole new setup there, about the same size as the SvS to get it to then work with the spy part. They would also require all new meshes and textures for the mercenary weapons and gadgets.
As well as adding new lighting fx for them.

They even use a slightly different physics engine as they can't climb like the spy.

It's not just a question of a plugin like a few maps that go with the existing setup, this would require a whole new setup. They would not even be able to do this on the 360 and that is even more flexible. So just like your not going to see SvM on this system, you will not see SvS on that one.

    Sorry.

Yes you can load maps from a map pack that is from DLC, but what is being asked here is not a map or map pack, but a whole new game style that is not even setup in the software.

Yes they can add some more maps for the SvS mode, but to make the SvM would require a full rewrite of the multiplayer game software.

Okay here is an example. The Spy Vs. Spy uses third person view for both sides and they can both climb and jump ect.
While the Mercs are only done in first person view and they can't climb and the use torches and see the weapons from a different angle.

Now there is no software in the SvS that will let this work. They would have to add all that plus many other things. It's not like a map or a new mode, it's a fully new style of game and that is my point.

While it's nice to want this, it's not going to happen in what is maybe the last Splinter Cell on the current generation consoles. Almost all XBox game design is winding down, sad, but true, so the next Splinter Cell will only be on the 360, PS3 and Wii. Due to this I would not expect any additions for this game on the current gen, although it would be nice.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
