ok so i downloaded the patch 1.03 i installed it, then i go to play the game it comes up with the protection system i go to automatically, i then enter my cd-key i click activate all that comes up is error and at the bottom
"the serial number entered is invalid or mistyped" i checked my tpying five times i typed it right but it says in valid serial number any no why..

Same here - had the game running once after lots of hassle downloading patches and batch files to see what hadn't loaded from the DVD to the hard drive. Then my system crashed and I had to reload XP Pro and SP2 - reloaded BIA to the existing directory and now it won't recognise my activation code and says the CD key is invalid. Any suggestions anyone, other than downloading patches (done), checking DirectX (done), upgrading video driver (done) ... ?

Tried everything as suggested - rebooting but still no good - Havent been able to play the game since installing that bloody patch - gonna have to uninstall and i have worked hard to get where i am - dont want to have to start again.Help would be appreciated folks :-(

back up your save file. then reinstall.

Which files are they then and where will I find them please.

The profile folder is in...

C:\Documents and Settings\<WindowsAccountName>\Application Data\Gearbox Software\Brothers In Arms

...in "Application Data", not "User Data". Application data is normally hidden by default.

To unhide this folder, in Windows Explorer, click on "Tools->Folder Options..." then click on the "View" tab and select the "Show hidden files and folders" radio button and click "OK".
