patch problem pls help | Forums

Hi there guys I'm new to this forum...got this problem hoping you could help me solve it

I just installed far cry not on the usual directory c:\program...and so on, all the games I have are installed in a seperate drive (namely e which is e:\Far Cry\ the problem is when I try to update it and choice the appropriate folder it doesn't seem to update. What will I do to update it pls help....

Do you run the patch in the same directory as the Far Cry installation? Many folks have FC on a separate drive and can update with no problem.

I'm trying to update it but can't seem to do it. I downloaded the patch (located on my desktop c: drive) and the FC is located at e:\Far Cry. when ever I run the patch it just hang up...

Hi Grifter

He is suggesting you place the patch in your farcry directory (main folder) and then run the patch exe and it should find it then I would think. Think its because you are running it on a different drive and hence it isn't finding where you have installed the game. Not tried it myself as my main drive is faster than my two slaves so my games tend to go on my main drive.

ok sir I'll try to patch it that way maybe that's the cause of it anyways thanks for that I'll update you guys upon it thanks again...

I think the patch installer would tell you that it can't find the game. Maybe the installer DL got massed up try to DL the patch from a different server.
