How do you get it to EXE

As for your question, the editor file is called 'Editor.exe', and is located in the same folder as the game executable. Depending on whether you got the game via Ubistore (or any other store) or Steam, just find the folder where the game executable is. Open up the properties of the game shortcut, and you should easily find the path to it there.

    Cheers and happy map creating!
    Have HOMM6 on Gamestop Impulse.

After finding the path I can't seem to get the exe file to open , I click on it, and nothing happens! It's like I am clicking air!

Also, if you do happen to find a created map where do you place that file so the game will recognize it??

I have had no luck with either, and it is really frustrating me and I am ready to say that cloud based games suck big time and I would tend not to buy another PC title if it keeps going like this...

    Please help!
I would like to play some new fanbased maps!

Also, Off topic a bit (How do you get the Juggernaut to charge? I click on the space and I always get the No Sign... ?)

    Thanks,

    Dave

Hey dcalyn, I'm not quite sure why the exe doesnt open, but I know that the folder you're looking for custom maps is under Users/My Documents/Might and Magic Heroes VI. Look for Scenario. Additionally, there are certain conditions under which a juggernaut can charge (i.e sometihng about minimum range and where he can land). It seems like some of the aoe is buggy, as I've seen cerberus attack in a line instead of an arc, if that makes sense.

I have a question of my own, and I hope this thread is not completely dead as I can see enormous potential in the game. Is there an easy way to place cliffs or is completely manipulation of various objects? From playing through the game I've seen some awesome looking scenarios, but I can't seem to replicate everything and I'm not sure if some objects are hidden (like heroes V) or if it is simply clever use of the editor. At any rate, I'm looking forward to the possibility of stringing maps together into a campaign.

    Thanks!

    Hi,
I am having the same problem as dcalyn- I purchased Might and Magic Heroes VI via Gamestop/Impulse, but when I double click on the editor, nothing happens. Everything else involving the actual game works, however. Please help? Thanks!

I looked at some of the previous posts in this thread from months ago and seen people were having trouble figuring out things with this editor. I've only been having HoMM6 for about 2 weeks now so not sure if any of the patches helped or not but I find this editor to be very easy to work with right from the start. For example, I have already made 4 new maps (and working on a couple more) and they have been a great deal of fun to play. It only takes me a couple of hours to make a new map from scratch. One map took me just over 2 hours to make but over 5 hours to play! Anyway I have sent one in to celestial heavens a couple days ago and will sent the others too. Maybe I can also send to maps4heroes. Can anyone recommend other sites I can upload all these maps for others to enjoy?

Ya, its good to hear that there's actually someone else using it. The only sites I know of are celestial heavens and maps4heroes. I'm curious though, how big is the map you spent two hours on? I have been working on one on and off for the last couple of weeks. It's a smaller map, but I find that I can easily spend two hours just working on a small part of the map. I don't know, maybe I'm a detail freak, but I find that this editor requires more time to get nice-looking maps.

At any rate, if you feel that your maps are playable, go ahead and post them. As another map maker I like looking at other's maps and seeing what they have done for ideas. I'm hoping to post mine (Former Friends, based off of the heroes V map) sometime this next week. Maybe a little later, depends how much work I can get done on it.

That one was 192x64 then a 192x192 and a few others which are 128x128. My very first map was a 128x128 and took me 4 hours but since I got used to the editor I have made a small one in under an hour. So I been able to get around pretty well in it, I find the four icons for camera settings in the bottom right to be an asset while working in the editor. The key is using copy and paste plus taking advantage of brush size and random facing and scale. I made a tutorial video to post on youtube but for some reason it did not record in fraps. I most certainly will be uploading my maps soon.

Anyone know how to get bridges to work? I seen some other threads regarding this that was posted months ago but still don't have a clear answer.

If you look earlier in this thread (maybe half way through? You'll have to do a little bit of browsing.) someone posted a guide to it. to summarize really quick, you make a "land bridge" (because everytime you see a hero walking over a bridge he's really just walking over terrain), paint the bridge on top of it, and then use the square visibility tool to remove the land from sight. You have to do some tweaking of objects to cover up any black gaps that appear, and I'm still messing around with the "water plane" objects to get a result I like, but it does work. Check out the guide for a detailed example.

I did see those posts in this thread but that post with the guide, the link no longer works. From reading some of those older posts I did read about putting terrain under and using square visiblity, it does work and I don't have problems getting my heroes to cross. Only problem I have is by using square visibility it makes the entire area under the bridge black. My latest thing was trying the water plane object as you mention and this seems to do the job since the black squares or no longer visible with the plane on top it, only I can't seem to change any properties of it like color or waves like you can with normal water. Well I will play around with it more that's for sure
