    I finally did it!

    For other struggling:
I got all the trading routes to get gold, stone, iron etc.
I got all the necessary technologies.
I made 3 armies with 10 pikemen and 25 musketeers.
Then I started attacking one sector at a time. Restore the defences, restore the armies and attack the next sector. Took forever, but got it in the end. Once I got the Stronghold, it was a piece of cake.

    Hurray!

The first time I did it, I did it much like you - took 3 hours or 4 hours. That was probably a year and half ago. Now I could do it much quicker.

Do you think I should post a walkthrough that would take less than 2 hours? Or do people need to do this themselves?

    Help.now.please!

I seriously need help. I've been stuck on this f'ing level for days and cannot get past the green player. I start out fine, get loads of coins from trade, but cannot defeat that green guy.

What's the way to go? Do I hurry and set up loads of traderoutes or something else?

I will send you my walkthrough in a private message. You try it out and see if you can make it work. It is difficult to write a walkthrough because the game is so unpredictable.

Basically, in the walkthrough you move to attack the green player (Boris) so fast that he does not have time to build up his army.

I've just completed it. Took forever, I rounded up 5 generals and ordered 175 musketeers. That did the trick. Who needs siege weapons?

I did have to secure a lot of trading routes, though. That's the key as I see it. Thanks anyway :-)

This is probably too late but I was searching for some help for this campaign map. Apparently I was adjusted to finishing quests in about 1-2 hours that I thought I was missing something. I finally finished this tedious map and this is what I do.

    1) Try to get as much trade and as much technology as possible. Get the technology that improve long range weapon by 30% or so.
    2) The most important trade for me was actually the first default one, which was 3 Jacket -> 4 Gold.
    3) I built a strong farming economy, with piggery, grain, sheep and knitting. There are plenty of space for this.
    4) Hire 4 generals (I dismissed the first plain one I got). That means you'll need 40 gold for that. I got a free general after liberating the western camp. I selected generals that are good against fortifications and good at long range vs troops.
    5) For each general (5 total now), I basically gave each 30 musketeers and 5 Pikemen.
    6) If you do the math, each Musketeer is (4 gold, 1 fancyfood) while each Pikemen is (3 gold, 1 regfood). That means I need about 675 gold and 150 FF and 25 RF.
    7) Accumulating enough gold during this time isn't too bad because you'll be busy building more residence (to up your population), researching tech, fulfilling the side quest (which I recommend), and traveling around the trade node. I messed up when I realized I didn't get the trade node that gives me stone, but I still finished without problems.
    8) Once I assemble the large army, I noticed that Boris the Green had 2 full armies with mixture of units awaiting me. I sent all 5 armies west to take out the first, then went quickly southwest to take out the second post and his second army. With all the upgrades on troops and generals, I loss maybe 10-15% of my total army.
    9) With Boris retreating, I quickly queue up more muskets and pikemen on armies that suffer loss. Boris the Green was able to replenish his stack to about 15-men in a matter of minutes, so I had to press the assault. I continue to send my 5 stacks armies after Boris, until I finished him off at his home castle. Boris had about 5 regions under his control, so now it's a frantic pace to fortify and start building an economy for producing soldiers (mines, ore, iron, blacksmith, wheels and some horses).
    10) The cutscreen occurs and now it's just the Yellow guy, which he'll attack if you are vulnerable. Once you successfully fend him off and build your Fortress (I built 2 and spam cannons), you're basically invincible now. It's cakewalk after that.

Actually, After you learn magic trick, level is quite easy.

    Some points:
    1. You do not need trading outposts much. Only one I used was gold to iron.
    2. DO no take out western guards. Do it only when you are ready to assault green.
    3. You should take port guards when you have enough forces.

    My way of doing:
    1. build economy, prepare army.
    2. Learn most of tecnogolies. Most important are: "gold for each soldier you kill", all that improves trading skills, all that improves regeneration of soldiers and attack.

    3. Build 3rd level of trading house - you need 4 generals.
    4. I had 1 general with 35 of melee soldiers (general had speciailty - melee) other generals mostly had musketeers.
    5. If you run out of stone:
send your clerics to conquer camps between you and Boris the green.
After that, when selecting reward, select stone.
    6. If you don't have problems with stone - still, you need to conquer all camps "in between".

After you conquered all middle sectors and you have 4 generals with all 35 soldiers each - take out western guards.
Boris will immediatly start to attack your camp, you will have to send all four generals to protect it.
After Generals arrive to the camp - Boris will cancel assault (or you can easilly kill all of his soldiers ).

    Now you have two possibilities:
    1. Immediately attack green - you can easilly attack first his original sector. If you will be able to capture it, Boris will not be able to construct army fast.
    2. you can just stay there and build your economy in this new 3 sectors:
    there is stone, iron, etc.
You can easily recruit soldiers to 5th general. (the one you get from guards camp).

After you will build economy and have 4-5 generals with full armies - you can easilly attack Boris's castle.

After that you can easilly attack yellow - I actually did it without cannons, (or only with like 5 of them)
