The Chronicles Of Tandria – Escape from the north.
Can someone please help I find this mission almost impossible.
I always run out of stones and if I try and start a trading expedition for stones I fine the Green player has already been there and started an expedition by the time I have cleared a way to the port, and I then can’t trade for stones, and then I am not able to build enough residences.
Also the Green player starts with quite a lot of cannons and always wins me because my stronghold is greyed out and I am unable to build one the get some cannons.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong please

At the moment the game starts: build up a noble house and make cloths. If you have those soon enough you can still get some good trading outposts.

    For an easy way:
you should not directly attack the opponents, just stay in the start sector en start making trading routes, choose jewellery from chests, at a certain point: make about 100 beers, 200 breads, 80 books. Then go getting technologies insane. If you start with just 1 technologie at the start you triger your opponents to go researching insane, save a lot of those beers, foods, books then make them all in once.

After you have researched technologies and have some handfull trading outposts, get 2 or more generals, give them each 30 cannons, then deffeat the western Missionobjective opponent and rush with 60 cannons to the yellow opponent.

    Hi Suptop

I have been staying in the start area except I capture the prison guards in the east to gain access to the port. I then attack the western guards, that I receive a new general from that camp, I then recruit one other general and that’s the maximum I can have, I then fill all three army’s with musketeers and pikemen, as that’s all I can recruit no cannons as the stronghold is not able to be built.
I then attack the Green player with 3 full army’s with 105 men and I always get beat.
I see what you mean about the technology’s I will do as you advised, but the trading post by the time I get the port open the Green player has most of the best trading post secured.
So please how do I make some cannons without the stronghold.
    Regards

I dont know why you could not?

You can make a coal burner and get a iron ore route? Iron ore is basically the only thing you have not.... so that should be your primaire trade objective?

And what i remember, i just could make cannons in the stronghold in the start sector.

I see, I dont know why but I remembered my having canons on that map. I think it will come later unlocked on the map. Untill then its best to save up Wheels, weapons, coal, coins, fancy food and make them instandly when you are aiable to build the stronghold. For trading route, you should follow this path:

If you follow this, your opponent will get stuck at the 6 iron bar trade route, he has to pay coins to pass you there.... but he has military as top priority in order to spend resources. So it will give you some time getting more trade routes.

PS: Purple is the way you trade, Green is the way you travel backwards by paying coins.

Hi again i have made a iron ore trade route and a coal maker/burner whatever so i can get iron ore, and now i will try and follow your trade route.
I have a problem in that my trader get part way on a trade route then get stuck and stop meanwhile the green player just goes on getting more trade routes.
Also i dont understand what you mean by paying coins to travel back

PS in your trade route map i have to cross trading route the othe player ahd already got how do i get past places he already has my traders just stop at that point

You can click on a NOT-yours outpost. A hawker has to bring up 1 coins to the trading building on the map. Then you can cross the opponents.

Buts its key important you take the first 3 outposts as I told you... otherwise you can't get him stuck in getting new tradeoutposts

    Hi SupTop,

is that number of troops in your amrmy always the best set up? or is it only working escape from the north?
I have tried 3 pike men , 12 musketeers, 7 cav, 12 canons and 1 flagman, but I am not sure that is the best combination...
