I don't seem to be able to figure out how to enter exact speed, course, etc without messing with the gauges via mouse. Could anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks a lot.

As far as speed goes, I can't imagine why you need to enter a speed like 15.75 instead of "ahead stanadard". After all, for most of the time you are moving, you want to use time compression and try to get there in a few hours instead of a few days.
But you are quite correct about direction (in my limited experience). The only way to change direcition is by using the mouse.
Isn't it sad that some developers put so much effort into letting you choose to use either the keyboard or the mouse for so many things but never seem to understand that if they are going to let people use the keyboard or the mouse for some controls, they really should allow them to use both for all controls.
One solution for you might be a program like Hotkeys 2000, where you can define keyboard hotkeys (like Alt-Ctrl-X) to move the mouse to a certain spot and then click it or drag it etc.
That may be a way for you to use the keyboard to do mousing actions.
Well, I like running at exact knot settings myself. 9 knots is by far the best for 'mileage'. Click on the little red button(?) near the bottom of the dials where you can pick speeds by names (aheqad standard and all that.
You can also click on that little red? button near the bottom of the compass and it changes to a degrees off port or starboard rudder type affair.
There is also keyboard commands for 'Hard to Port/Starboard' as well as 'Centre the Rudder'.
I do agree though, I wish there was a more accurate way of being about to set your course to 187 if you want, without having to click the mouse several times.
