Thread: Friends List issue | Forums

  1. #1
Although my other half has a Windows Live ID, is on Xbox Live, is on my friends list and is also signed up on the Yourshapecenter and Uplay sites, I still can't get her to appear on my friends list, therefore can't compare stats or set a challenge. I keep getting a translation missing message. When I click on the button it just takes me back to the login screen. Is this a general problem affecting most people or something I'm doing wrong? Help...

It is happening to us too. My husband is on my friends, I am able to compare stats on mine. However I am not on his friends, he cannot compare our stats. He is getting the same message as you are too.

I was also having this problem, but my smart IT computer husband helped me with it. It is kind of a pain in the butt though. Under the regular log in for Your Shape profile, there is a log in for Windows Live. Click on that and log in to your Windows Live. You must be logged in to both your Windows Live and Your Shape profiles to be able to see your friends. I hope it works for you as well! =0)

My fiance and I are having the same issue and have tried the few suggestions on the website. Thus far, messaging support has only brought the response that it isn't their issue and to check the forums... Any other ideas would be helpful.

Thus far I've tried being logged into live and ubi in firefox, ie, and ie 64 bit. We are friends on the xbox and in live. From what I can tell, this is what is needed but isn't working.

This is SnuffleMuffins husband, and this is how I got it working. Its a bit of a kooky dance, but it definitely works for us.

The trickiest part of this is understanding that even though your Ubisoft account and your windows live account are linked, you need to be logged into both separately for the Your Shape Center to work correctly. Normally this is not a problem if your the only person using this whole setup. When you log off of your Ubisoft account, to let someone else log in for example, your windows live account is still logged in as you!! When they log into Ubisoft, the currently logged in windows live id does not match and you get Translate_Error or just a blank list of friends in your profile.

To fix this, the New Person needs to click on the silver "Sign In" button underneath the regular YourShape login. Once you click on that, it will show you who's Windows Live ID is currently logged in. Sign off the current user and log into the new person's account. Once you sign in you will be dropped into a screen asking if you want to set up a new Ubisoft account or link to an existing one. IGNORE THIS SCREEN and go back to yourshapecenter.com (I made a bookmark directly to the yourshape log in screen to make this easier!) Now the new person can log in to Your Shape Center. The quickest way I found to see if this worked is by clicking "Your Profile" in the upper left next to your picture. If the correct Windows Live ID is logged in, the friends list should populate with your Xbox friends who have also linked their YourShape game to their Windows Live ID. This needs to be done EVERY TIME you change users. Its a bit of a hassle, but it works.

Remember: When you use that silver Sign In button on the Your Shape Center login page, that Windows Live ID stays logged in FOREVER!!! Even if you log into some other Windows Live ID service on a different website, Ubisoft will still be using whatever Windows Live ID signed in with that specific button! I know this is opposite of what the Windows Live ID was developed for, but that is how Ubisoft happened to implement it.

You can also use two different browsers for each account. For example we normally use Firefox, so I set up one of our your shape accounts in IE and the other in Firefox, and they both work fine without doing the Sign In Shuffle. It also appears to work using separate Firefox profiles, but that's a little too advanced for some people and this post is long enough as it is.

I had trouble viewing my friends list on the YSCenter site as well. My xbox friends list would always come up empty or say it is unable to retrieve my information.

This is how I fixed mine.

    1. I logged out of Your Shape Center.

    2. When I went to log in, I logged in w/ my Windows Live ID (it gives you an option to do this under the regular sign in) instead of my Ubi account. You will only have to do this once since it stays logged in even if you log out of the YourShape Center site. Unless you are sharing your computer w/ other players and they need to log into their Windows Live ID.

This is what adeti is talking about in the previous post.

    3. I was directed to a page to sign in w/ my Windows account. After I did, it offered me an option to create a Ubi account or log into an existing one.

    4. I logged into my existing Ubi account.

My friends list now shows up in my profile. I am able to select a friend and compare stats.

The moral of the story? Log in with your windows ID first and then your Ubi. You do need to be logged into both for all the features in the YS Center to work.

This is great! It will be helpful for lots of new people.

I would also suggest that those with more than one person in the family using YSFE and it's website to each person use a different browser. For example: Husband use IE; Wife use Firefox. This will solve a lot of logging in and logging out headaches.
