Thread: Where are the black people? | Forums

  1. #1
I'm a bit concerned, that from all the videos and screenshots, I haven't seen any black people. I've seen them in concept art, but I've also seen elephants in concept art (and they're not in the game).

I hope Ubi aren't trying to be politically correct by not allowing you to kill lots of dark-skinned people (apparently killing white people is ok tho). I'm all for diversity of characters in the game, an African warzone should have it's mix of Eastern European smugglers, South African mercenaries, middle-eastern merchants, corrupt white officials, but more than anyone there should be a LOT of black people.

(When replying, please refrain from making any comments in poor taste or this thread will undoubtedly be closed. Thanks.)

Being that this is Africa and all, shouldn't most, if not ALL, of the protagonists (as well as enemies) be African?

I guess white people would much rather play as other white people. I surmise that it simply wouldn't be much fun for them to control/befriend people of non-Caucasian descent.

South Africa is one of the very few countries that have alot of white people BUT black people are still more than us by at least 90%. I know, I live here! And if you ask me its pretty stupid having a non black african savannah! Realism = 0%

Point made but I don't think the creators were meaning to exclude anyone. At some point you'd never get the game made if one were trying to get everything REAL. I'm sure it was just overlooked and remember the game isn't out yet.

Oh just so everyone knows...if I find even 1 species of insect thats not native to the African continent....I'll be demanding my money back!

Dude. We're not talking about a single, rare endangered species of root not making it into the game. We're talking about freaking AFRICAN (black) PEOPLE... in... AFRICA. Seems like a rather glaring omission, don'tcha think?

It's beyond comical that I even have to spell this out for you. Almost as much as Ubisoft not including any Africans in a game set in Africa.

Imagine if Paramount Pictures made a movie about World War II. Except nearly every single soldier fighting in it was BLACK. It's that kind of error.

Hey DUDE, I said in my post you made your point so chill out...I don't need you to spell anything out to me. As I said, the game isn't out yet so you don't know for sure what they have omitted or not omitted. As for my species comment...it obvious to anyone with half a sense of humour that I was joking. Also, should UBI make the blatant omission of black Africans then you can boycott the game or sue UBI....till then...
