Thread: Russia currently CHEATING in TOW on PS3 ??? | Forums

  1. #1
I just played a game where my teammate did nothing. The guys on opposite side where not moros, so there would'nt be a change. I had to quit just to write about it here. VERY frustating so see this kind of lameness.

For a while i'been thinking that how can it be that Russia is doing so good at current PS3 war? And very often when we play we win. (EU) All of them are not superior. Also there doesn't seem to be a problem against USA, but seems like we allways lose everything to Russians?

So is this a new way of cheating now?

    1) Create another PSN-name
    2) Join the enemys faction
    3) Join some 2 vs 2 or 4 vs 4 game
    4) Do anything but play

    ??????

The guys PSN name was U2RIRI

It should be probably technically somewhat easy to prevent this sort of lameness by making some rule to logging on TOW server. For example you are not allowed to login with different faction from same MAC address or IP within some period of time.

Even better would be that Ubisoft would build a system that monitors and alerts when this things happens? Very easy to see (automatically) that same IP constantly logs on with 2 factions and other account is not doing anything. And after a while they could just ban the fake-account from TOW server?

I don't think there much to do here if this is real? I COULD BE that someone just have fell asleep after joining the game or something. Normally i wouldn't start whineing after just one occasion....BUT Russia is doing so good that this theory really now fits the picture. Other PS3 USA and EU players. Have you bumbed into this sort of thing?

PS. If this was a know problem and there allready was a thread then please move this post to existing Thread. Thanks!

PS2. If the problem is real then this sort of issues need to be taken care of with high Priority by Dev team. Otherwise people will stop playing when they get too frustated and game will lose lots of fans!

I could easily agree with everything you said (including the solutions you offered to counter cheating ) but I don't think this is fair to us Russians:

....BUT Russia is doing so good that this theory really now fits the picture.
Why is it that Russia's performance is ALWAYS associated with cheating?

War 1 (not showed on ToW feed)
The war was mainly fought between JSF and SGB. SGB won but victory is tainted with a lot of controversy (territories given away to Russia; developpers stopped the war, etc.).

War 2 (shows War 1 in the ToW feed): 17 turns
The struggling EFEC from War 1 wins War 2 by dominating from Turn 2 to the end. 27 territories and Washington.

War 3 (shows War 2 in the ToW feed): 10 turns
JSF Blitzkrieg; 28 territories and Paris.

War 4 (shows War 3 in the ToW feed): 102 turns
Until turn 23, EFEC was leading with 23 territories. JSF comes back and win (Paris + 20 territories).

All of those wins can be justified to me, with arguments like:
    1. people learned how to play on the maps they lost before (which makes sense ... practice makes perfect)
    2. all the best players from faction X move to our faction (maybe to follow some friends or to get Dog of War trophy or even to try different units/strategies)

War 5 (shows War 4 in the ToW feed): 26 turns
Until turn 8, EFEC was leading with 21 territories, 13 for SGB. SGB comes back and win (Washington and 28 territories)

Even when ignoring War 1 to 3, the sequence of the events in War 4 and 5 are really similar. So why double standards here?

I am not saying that cheaters do not exist at all. In your case, the person you mentioned might have done what he did on purpose (= cheating). I am only against the overall association of everything Russia does to cheating, especially since the steps you described here:
    1) Create another PSN-name
    2) Join the enemys faction
    3) Join some 2 vs 2 or 4 vs 4 game
    4) Do anything but play
can be duplicated by every person of every faction.

I hope you understand my point of view. I don't mean to be rude or anything like that.

a ton of people have two or more login names, the true way to tell them apart from a cheater is to look at the amount of trophies the player name in question has.
if he has a ton, he probably enjoys playing vs. waiting, and is rank 12 on both accounts. if he does not have any trophies, than he is in fact a cheater or a noob.
i myself have enough trouble keeping one account rockin, i don't have time to support two accounts, but i play with and against some of the best players on both sides.
last night for instance, played two games at oake, then jumped to dc, and two of the efec had logged into jsf accounts and played us there, they beat us all three games, which shows they were not cheating, they were going where the games are. in this dying player base, who can blame them?
people who faction hop definitely sway the TOW, but who cares, your faction will not win every war, but you should worry about winning every match

Gimble stop being a little ***** jsf do it as well, an another thing devs won't do anything for the game anymore they are on to crap games instead of making this game even better then what it is! like the ideas though, did u ever think that could be that guys first game and doesn't know how to play i have met a few of them.

I haven't played for a long time and just started playing, I've won quite easily in almost every game so I think it's just Russia being the best this round.

Maybe your teammate was new to the game or had better things to do? The loosing side is always saying that the winning side is cheating.
