OK, first of all, you need to slooooow dooooown when you type, put punctuation where it needs to be, make sure what your saying makes sense, and watch your spelling. Now take your time and say what your trying to say in an understandable way.<-

Okay...this was funny the first time, but now annoying.

If you think it's something harsh enough for me to edit, then why even go there in the first place? Just don't even post, and keep your thoughts to yourself.

I think it is just me...but almost every new member that put their first post in always types incorrectly. Its like a phase I don't know. Anyway, It takes alot of practice to make great maps. It takes alot of ambition and great ideas as well. While you are making a map always think what a person playing this would like, not just you.
Noone can make an excellent map in just a few short hours. It takes alot of time.

I cidn't tipee bad on miy thirst post. Oops.

Anyway, for a new idea, i just think of a situation, such as a town, desert, island, anything, and then put that situation in one where a battle could take place, and where cool stuff can happen.

Seeing my name among Jay and Hurricane is a weird thing to me. Kind of a compliment I guess, but worries me. Anyway, I usually get ideas from other FPS games and movies.

I get my inspiration mostly from brushes or boredom. Basically open a new map - flatten all of the land to 18m (gives a unique shade of terrain, as opposed to 20m and is easier to slope into lakes/rivers/coast) then begin overlapping brushes and playing with ideas. Eventually you'll find a little something you loke the looks of and then build your map around that. Just one way of doing it.

Usually, I think of my maps after a long day at work. I come home and kick off my shoes, then I light some candles (you know, those scented kind. . . mmmm lavender) then I run a warm bath (with bubbles and exfoliating salts.) Then I put on some Enya, or one of my "Sounds of Nature" CDs and just soak, while sipping some merlot. (Gotta have the merlot, am I right guys?) Then the ideas just come to me when my mind is clear and I'm in my special happy place.
