Thread: End of the workout | Forums

I know that a personal trainer should be a sadistic taskmaster, but when is a session for a workout finished? Now this is only my second day using the program, but after finishing one session, I never got an indication that we were finished for the day. It just did an energizer bunny routine on me, and kept going, and going, and going. After about 45 minutes, I ejected the disk and hit the showers. Gonna be sore in the mornin'...

Which brings me to another point. Is there no way to exit the program other than ejecting the disk or shutting the console off? That's a pretty **** poor program design, from an interface point of view (That's the software engineer in me speaking, there).

Hmm... my workout sessions have an end, I'm not sure why yours didn't.

As for exiting the game, put it in PAUSE mode by standing with your right arm down by your side and left arm out and down at 45 deg angle. You'll then see an option to exit to the Kinect hub. It's the same for any of the Kinect games as far as I know.

Ok, this does work after a fashion, but it's a multi-step operation that is a pain in the butt.
Here is the procedure as I see it.

1 Pause the program by holding your left arm 45 deg down and your right arm straight down.
2 This will bring up an options menu. Select Kinect Guide
3 In the Kinect Guide, select Kinect Hub
4 Answer Yes when asked if you want to exit the program
5 Finally, you are at the Kinect Hub, where you can exit Kinect entirely.

I'm still getting used to the Kinect input device, but if this is MicroSoft's standard interface, it's a stupid interface.

My suggestion, in which I am sure MicroSoft is supremely disinterested, would be:

    1. Have a selectable option on screen at all times to Exit to Kinect Hub.

    Simple, huh?

    Alternatively,

    1. Pause the program by holding your left arm 45 deg down and your right arm straight down, as above.
    2. In the option menu, have a selection to go straight to the Kinect Hub without first going through the Kinect Guide.

The current process is needlessly cumbersome for something as fundamental as exiting a program.

Press the big X on a controller and select dashboard or shutdown.
