    Hello World,

First, the program is great- I've had it less than 24 hours and flown about 16 of them with no crashes of Lomac.

My question may be stupid but here it is:

When you go into the Fast Battle Planner page and pick a friendly aircraft (upper half of the right side of the screen) - an F15 for example - and then add a ship or almost any other target and when the game loads you get a 3/4 view of the plane but F1 wont get you into the cockpit - it's like your actual plane is an AI plane: it shoots at things and flies very nicely around - but that's not what I want: I want to kill.

I want to use the A10 to shoot rockets at a ship- but every time I try that or just about any other FBP mission (in American planes it seems) all I get is a ride along with an AI plane - please help me.

Once again I must tell you and the whole forum that the game is great - and my computer aint so fancy: P4/ASUS mobo /2.8/533FSB/1Gb Mushkin RAM/36Gb Raptor SATA,Radeon 9700 Pro - WinXP.

Three comments that would answer 50% of the questions out there in the Forum:

** Windows 98SE is *discontinued* so please get over it folks. You need to get a new OS if you want to fly. Next.

** Same thing for Win2000 as a game platform: it's a wonderful, stable OS But face it, we're stuck with XP but for flying XP works really well.

** In regards to weird crashes: I used to have all kinds of Flight Sim problems while using Athlon and Athlon XP chips - switching to Intel CPU's seems to be a key thing: yeah maybe they're a tad slower and more expensive but the peace of mind you get is priceless.

    Thank you for your time.

I agree. Actually, you could solve more than 50% of the problems if it actually said so *on the box*. The retailer has very little sympathy for people that try to return opened games - especially when it says on the box that the game will work with the consumer's system.

Following your reasoning, if someone has a Pentium 4 1.8 they should get a new processor simply because it's ben *discontinued*.

I love it when people who experience success blame the victims - after all, it must be THEIR fault it's not working for them because then it means that the only reason you got it working is because you're so SMART.

You probably WERE on an AI ride-along.
Be sure to choose PLAYER as the SKILL to be able to drive your own plane.

The AI Ride-Alongs can be fun for the non-flyable type aircraft like the B-52s.

    That is the answer.

    Thank you Whiskey Romeo.

If you're ever in Burlington, Vermont let me buy you a beer or an orange smoothie.

    Woo Hoo!

    This game is GREAT!
