    please help me my new system has an intermittent USB problem, I have a antec 900 gaming case and my front USB some times when i plug just a cable into it my whole system crashes, then i restart and plug in again and have no problems.

    anyone have any ideas?

    Have you tried reinstalling your USB drivers? They should be in the motherboard's setup CD...

    new info on my problem this happens pefore the usb plug is inserted, it happens as i touch the plug to the metal casing of the female receptical.


    any suggestions now? should i run a ground wire to my usb ports?

    Buddy you have something grounding onto your USB port. Best case scenario is it's just port-to-case. Worse case is it's something with power shorting over onto the USB port, and if you plug in a phone, printer, scanner or iPod you could zap it into oblivion. Worst case, you or your family could get zapped if you are grounded and touch it. This could be unsafe and you should take your machine to your vendor or a repair place. Good luck. Tim O.

    ok i think i fixed my problem, I think it was a pinched usb cable close to the front usb connections, have not had this problem for a while so hopefully it is resolved.
