Alright, this has gotten on my nerves for the last time.
The hopelessness of the laser aiming for weapons in Splinter Cell Conviction and R6 Vegas 1/2 is unbelievable. Even GRAW was pretty pitiful.
The point of a laser aiming module is that your bullets will hit where the red dot is.

Take a look at Resident Evil 4/5, Dead Space 1/2, Crysis, Mass Effect 2 Phalanx pistol, heck, even Alan Wake's touch has a more positive outcome then the stupid laser aiming in Ubi's games.
In all recent Ubi titles, laser aiming has just been an accuracy percentage increase.

So, if you haven't guessed it already, I would like to see Splinter Cell Six have decent/effective laser aiming modules for apt weapons.

    Agree

By upgrading your weapon with laser in Conviction, you add auto aim to your weapon, which is unreal.

    - Don't belive? Try this:
Go behind the cover, aim the enemy (example: his stomach), press zoom key/button and Sam will automatically aim at his head.

Yeah, I know. This has actually been really annoying at times. Like when I want to zoom and shoot a light, the crossharis will automatically find a nearby enemy.

    But of course.
I was merely remarking on the fact.

In R6V2, I tended to find that aiming down the sights made a weapon less accurate than hip firing, regardless of a laser or not. Anyone else notice this?
"Fisher, we need to you infiltrate the compound without being detected, so we've given you a Desert Eagle and a shotgun. Just to be safe, have a RPG as well. It's the silent killer."

I know exactly what you mean. And I've lost a few times bc I was in a tight spot and out of nowhere, "auto lock on target" kicked in.

Didn't Lambert refer to Sam as a SIGINT NINJA in the ORIGINAL SC?

NINJA, huh....what ever happened to "Sam Fisher the SIGINT NINJA"............

Play on Realistic you won't have this problem... I never had this problem, don't know why? I then played on normal, and I noticed the gun going up on the head (just a little bit) maybe on rookie the gun points automatically on the head...? dunno

    Nope.
I've only played on Realistic for the entire duration I've owned the game, and it does it all the freaking time.

Though I get the feeling it does it within a larger radius on lower difficulty levels.

Laser sights don't mean the bullet will go right where the dot is. There is a lot that goes into accurate shooting. Breath control and your trigger pull are huge parts.

Go take a pistol with a laser sight and put a target at 50 yards an see how often you hit right were the dot is. I bet it wont be too frequent.

I do agree that the need to be re-tooled though. just a % increase on the accuracy is pretty weak
