I'm glad you two didn't have to go head to head! That would have been by far the hardest for both of you to deal with.

I wanted one of you two to win and I'm still mad that she's gone.

I understand why you would do that, sacrifice yourself, and I don't have anything bad to say about it at all. I have the same passion for the girls to win (especially in gaming), and if you thought someone else had a better chance I think it's a totally reasonable thought to go through your head.

Nothing wrong with a little civility. Oh sure, the macho crowd would be saying, "Lawl, she's a girl, she lets her emotions rule her!" ... and then they'll get beat in a game and are probably the same people that will get angry, belligerent, and emotional. They just represent it by throwing their controllers.

The lack of civility in the communities of some of the games I used to play online is what turned me off to the online aspect of those games. The last thing I want to see at the end of a game is, "GG NUB NO RE LAWLZ" or "REMATCH *****, I WASN"T MY BEST RACE YOU HAXXING ****."

I don't see the problem with stepping aside for someone better if you have a vested interest in that person winning. It makes sense, from a certain perspective. Makes more sense than being excessively competitive, imo.

Edit: Apparently my purposeful misspelling circumvented the language filter. Fixed.

While I'm glad that you didn't have to do that, I can certainly understand why you were going to & I think a lot of people around here at least would've supported your decision.

I think it's so admirable that your goal in the whole competition was more for the fact that a female won, versus winning the prize yourself. That's why youre a great rolemodel, amy! Youre listed on my myspace as one of my heroes, and this just adds more reason behind why that is. I know how lame that sounds, but it's true!

I'm sure it had to be hard thinking that you were going to go up against one of your former team mates.

Also, I agree that Dante SHOULD NOT have won first... I mean, didn't he almost kill some of the film crew?! I was stunned when you guys werent in 2nd place.

I frag on the first date.

I don't think that having a friendship is a negative. You want to do well, and you don't want your friends to do bad either. It makes you a good person. Girls have emotions, and they let them show sometimes. It's a fact. You are both awesome gamers, and I was sad to see Alison go. But I can see guys choosing more girls to go vs. girls. Only because how many guys do you know would want the Ultimate Gamer to be female. Of course they want the Ultimate Gamer to be some macho dude. But you can still be competitive and still not want someone to go home. And you showed that when you faced Kelly. You knew it was her or you, and you pulled through, worked hard, and kept going. Even when it meant having a friend go. I'd say the guys have it easier, because they don't have the friendships that the girls had coming into the competition. So ROCK ON Valkyrie. You're showing what a true gamer is, by showing your gaming skills, while also have sympathy and compassion for your competition!

Nah, most of us would rather see a woman. Guys are really only worth watching when they are shooting guns, kung-fu fighting, or fighting fires - and some sports.
