Thread: install of software cause computer to beep - pc | Forums

I've downloaded two games from DirectDrive one I purchased and the other is a demo, GRAW and FarCry both Ubisoft games. I start unpacking the stuff or somewhere during installing and my computer starts beeping, the beeps are about 2-3 seconds apart, these beeps can not be muted and it lasts until I uninstall the games or delete the unzipped files from the temp folder, at one point the game was almost finished downloading and it started beeping. These are the only programs that do this, no other installs or games cause this to happen. The games meet or exceed the minimum requirements to run the game. The game manufacture, direct drive and Dell are all blaming each other/passing the buck and I am getting pissed. Anything I can look at or do to get it to stop.

FYI the install finishes and I can start the game, it just keeps beeping. If I restart the system, when it restarts and gets to the windows welcome screen it starts beeping again.

Turns out it was a HD space warning, normally the install or a popup message warns me of space issues, so I wasn't used to the beep.
