I have thought 100s of times game combining:
    -GTA (Freedom, activities)
-Sims (Own house and social life)
-Splinter Cell (Controls, depth of movement)
-Elder Scrolls (Lively AI, time, environment variety, freedom)

Plus some aspects of lots of games
    -Driver (Driving)
    -Sports (Sports activities)
-Simcity (Eventually making the entire city by yourself)
    -Dead Rising (Object use)
-ETC. (Other smaller feats, arcade games...)
Warning: Everything above is an opinion
    The show must go on
What is this Splinter Cell you talk about?

Is this what you're trying to get at: you can kill someone in the game, and run away, but basically be permanently on the wanted list and try to stay below the radar for the rest of the game?

That would be cool, maybe if it was on expert mode or something, cause it could also be annoying. Say you did shoot somebody in the game, and there were no cops around, but there were witnesses, they would tell the cops your description, you wouldn't have any felony right away, (you could hear the description being read on the police radar), and you could see cops stopping people who look like you in the game

Could be cool. In areas with higher crime you would have a higher chance of getting off the hook because people would be afraid to talk to the cops. If they were going to do it like this though, I would want it to be a whole game by itself really. Maybe aside from "undercover mode" assuming the next guy is a cop, this could be something to do.

Yes, it would be awesome. Think of the possibilities. Obviously it would take too much time to make thousands of different characters in a city, but certain characters would exist that you could form bonds with, etc. Talk to people in the city, make deals, etc, a storyline that unfolds unpredictably, take a friendship for granted and they turn on you..

Smellovision.. I think that would stink up the house, might also be a biohazard

@InsaneDriver, I've seen driving simulators on TV, cops use them. Looks boring

That would be cool, certain characters you can talk to, to make the story unfold. Much more interesting than being told by a mini map u have to go somewhere. The other characters could point you in the direction of who to go see next. And you could escape having big expensive cutscenes meaning the in-game graphics would be better.

RPG games are usually where character interactions have shined for the most part. They've been able to move a character through a storyline pretty well and have had a ton of abilities to use against enemies. This is where the freedom of interacting in an imaginary world began.

For a game centered on sandbox gameplay, I don't find the odds of it being able to beat an RPG at all, or for the most part, it won't beat an RPG by a lot. If you're looking for a lot of simulating with a character, look for a game like Sims. As for a game that drives your character forward and allows a lot of actions, look for an RPG. Right now, you can't have such high expectations on what these GTA-clones can do. Sandbox gameplay is at an early stage that we likely won't see very many excellent developers or excellent games working at this element any time soon. This is often common with sub-genres like stealth and survival horror, so I wouldn't be surprised if we'll only be able to see as little as 15 games throughout all of the 7th generation that focus on this element. It's still a difficult task for many developers to implement well enough, even for Rockstar North, who seems to have the element being pushed forward by some of an extent.

I see it possible for developers have improved weapons, aiming, fighting skills, and more ways for stealing vehicles. Also, it'll be possible to do things that are basic for moving forward in a video game, such as climbing, jumping, swimming, rolling, crawling, taking cover, and entering/exiting buildings. These should be the most noticed and targeted abilities for a sandbox game as they'll be the most important ways to keep players entertained and proceeding through the game. They'll even make for great exploring. One idea for Driver that would be awesome is to have the climbing ability allow you to climb buildings like an expert, from ledge to ledge, and even for rock climbing. Now there are some elements that Rockstar North has yet to implement. Go for it, Reflections!
