    Ubi-

Thank you for giving us a LOT of admin options and hosting options. The ALTERNATE mode is a prime example of allowing people to customize a game to their need.

In that light, I'd like to suggest an additional option if possible. A slider that adjusts the damage scale for bullets for each type of gun. It could slide between:

    0.01 - 5.00

and act as a multiplier of bullet damage. I've played a lot in PT and have been active in CT Beta Demo (understanding it's just a beta), but a lot of people are saying that spies seem to eat bullets for breakfast. Mayhaps this could help out a decent amount of people.

    Intelligent discussion welcome.

IMO bullet damage is fine in the Beta, but this discussion belongs in the "Beta Discussion" forum nonetheless.

So umm... Everyone would get his multiplier to 5.00, since you didn't say there will be any penalties.

Or did I understand something wrong?

But since I don't play SvM much, I don't care much Maybe I should start playing a bit online.

    Let me expand a little.

The HOST sets the option for the multiplier. It is shown in the SESSION OPTIONS (or wherever variables are located, and such a server would classify as an ALTERNATE SERVER, ie, one that is modified from defaults)

Suppose the Host set the multiplier to 2.50 (between 0.01 and 5.00) That means the damage a bullet does, will now be that X 2.50 (2 and a half times more powerful). This setting is applied to ALL USERS, who cannot modify the value.

Same deal if the host feels bullets are too powerful. They can choose an option below 1.00 to reduce the damage of bullets. People who are happy with bullet damage as is, could leave it at 1.00, and in essence, nothing will have changed.

Bottom line, it would be a host-adjustable option, not an individual one.

Hmmm could be nice as a host-adjustable option yeah. But in SC: PT the bullets were way too weak, in the SC:CT spy vs merc beta the bullets were way more powerful, I think it's balanced as it is in the beta. What a lot of people seem to forget is that the ammo of the sc20 is heavy, but in exchange for power you get a huge recoil, just learn to use burst mode or tap it one after one and you'll eliminating spies like you've been doing that since you were born...

I just said that to make part of the discussion, because I'll be a hardcore coop player.

I think the bullets are fine. Anyways, if the shotgun did any more damage, there would be no spies left playing.

You know, I honest to God HAVE been trying that. Many people were recommending to me that Burst Mode was more beneficial than Auto, and it makes sense too; since with auto, after a short time, the recoil will kick your bullets to places you don't want them to go.

So far I havn't seen any real improvement. Heck, it may be that I'm missing them entirely as well. It's too dark; and the current implementation of having to adjust brightness OUTSIDE of the game (ie, monitor tweaking) is a bit hokey (Guess I COULD setup a profile so that when it plays that game, it runs in a higher gamma/brightness, but that's another topic altogether)

I'll give Burst mode a shot. Sure as heck, I can remember PT's bullets being weak. I'd just sit there laughing as I wasted a full clip into a spy. I DO like how Ubi gave us 3 guns now. Good move.

I thought there were already two threads about this topic, oh well. The bullet damage is fine for me. Yea, I've had one or two spies eat a whole clip before, but that was before I learned how to aim. Having a slider option would ruin the game because everyone would set it at the maximum damage and kick anyone who complains about it being too high. They make the damage the way it is so it adds some drama to the game. If you killed the spy every time you saw him it wouldn't be as fun as having to chase down an intruder and he's running for his life. My advice to anyone who is loading whole clips into people, learm how to aim better

Advice noted, but aim isn't the issue. I have many instances where I am point blank and fired on the spies, only to watch them run off. I'm sure there are many who need better aim, but that isn't always the case.

I can't see how giving the host the option to adjust bullet damage could affect anyone in a negative manner. People who enjoy the game as is will not alter the setting. People who do alter the setting will have an "ALTERNATIVE" host, which can be setup in the server room filter to be avoided, so you never join a server with an adjusted damage rate.

Personally, I think the more options you give your players, they happier they may be. The more restrictive you are, the less a wider range of people would fully enjoy the game.
