i know that the game saves automatically at certain points, but im still confused about it. it seems to save after each time you find a flag, scale a viewpoint, save a citizan, etc, but when have to turn the game off, how do you start the next time right where you left off? ive already assassinated the first target and now it seems like i cant go back to damascus and roam around and finish all of the optional objectives? or now after killing the first target if i want to go back to damascus i have to travel all the way there, and if i die then it puts me outside the city again? whats up with that?

another thing...while in damascus i was only allowed to roam around the poor district, which i take was becuause i hadnt completed enough objectives yet, but is there still a way that i can go back to damascus and "take my time" and roam around completing the little side objectives?

The reason you could only get into the poor district is because you have to unlock the other areas, it's the same for all the cities. And I don't really get the save system either, it always saves at exact points, but it always reloads at the bureau.

The game saves when you make any sort of progression, be that finding a flag, scaling a viewpoint, saving a citizen, killing a templer, or any other task. But it also saves when you have traveled to a new area.

After an assassination you can not do the other investigations without replaying the whole 'block'. You will be able to return to do the side missions and go to the view points. Whenever you wish.

The reason it is putting you outside of the city is because that is where you last progressed, try finding a flag near a challange you are stuck on, then you should appear back there and it will cut down on traveling.

You won't be give unlimited access to all areas until the end of the game.

But yes, you will be able to return to do any side missions you wish, however if you only do three of the investigations you will not be able to do the other three, unless you replay that section, which you do by selecting it in the Animus.

Also later you will be able to skip to cities, avoiding have to travel the kingdom if you so wish.

I am new to the game. Can I start a new game by not pressing continue and not erase the original game
